Default Iola's Spells

I just saw the chili episode, thats the first syndicated episode. I was wondering if thats the only episode Iola has a spell in.

I remember from long ago, Iola would have little outbursts about her mother, but a few months ago, I started watching for the first time in years and I saw most of season 4 and pretty much all of 5 and 6 and didn't see any of these little spells about her mother that Iola has. So, either they pretty much appeared only in season 3 or that was the only episode I saw it in and I just remember it so well that it seemed like there were many more.

I can remember two more off the bat! Iola has a spell when "little Eugene"(whom Mama is babysitting for Rev. Meacham) breaks her ball on a stick toy that she gives him.

Another is when Mama gets that $800 dollars from the ATM by mistake, and Iola goes into a rant about why she shouldn't give it back to the bank, due to the fact that they gave her mother a defective toaster that singed her nose hairs.

I love Iola's spells!

So do I! Iola was a much better compliment to Mama than Fran was.

I disagree. They were both wonderful compliments, just that Frannie was a different sort than Iola was. The Mama/Fran combo was more realistic; Frannie was the intelligent writer, who had to kinda "look after" simplistic, uneducated Mama. She was also jittery and highstrung when she'd have to calm Mama down or try to keep her "contained", .

Yeah, personally I just though Iola was funnier. They really didn't use Fran as much as they could have. There were several episodes where she didn't even appear. I'm just biased though because I like Mama's syndicated less uptight personality and Iola's craziness better than the REALLY uptight NBC Mama with a uptight/nuts sister.

Another one is where she is going to pierce Bubba's ear and starts stabbing that orange with that huge needle.

She also had I think her funniest spell in the episode "Child's Play" when she gave Eugene his present and he broke it.

"Why not take it a step further and break it in half!!!" (she breaks it in half, then she says something about stabbing him in the eye and comes towards him with it.)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Yeah, Iola was just plain funnier. 'Course, I may just be used to Blanche Devereaux and her southern accent.
