Looks like the show is not coming back next season...

Vet actress Beverly D'Angelo has joined the cast of NBC's untitled Marsh McCall sitcom. Thesp Jamie Denbo ("Rock Me Baby") has also been added to the McCall laffer. D'Angelo will star opposite Tom Conti, Mitch Rouse and Greg Pitts in the McCall pilot. She'll play Annie, a recently divorced therapist and the mother of two adult men. Warner Bros. TV is behind the laffer, which centers on a family's relationships after the parents split. D'Angelo's recent TV credits include the telepic "On the Edge," as well as the short-lived ABC series "Talk to Me." In addition to her recurring role in the "National Lampoon's Vacation" series of films, she also has appeared in numerous features including "Sugar Town," "American History X" and "Coal Miner's Daughter." Denbo is set for the McCall pilot cast as Piper. She also appeared in the feature "Lost Souls." Teri Polo ("I'm With Her") will appear in a guest role on the comedy pilot, about the relationship between a newly divorced father (Tom Conti), a professor at stanford, and his son (Mitch Rouse). Greg Pitts also stars in the project, which is set up at Warner Bros. Television. |

I read the same thing....she is only in the Pilot. Actually things are looking pretty good for "I'm With Her". ABC has it scheduled to be on every week up until the season finale in early May. Usually if a show is in trouble you will start seeing pre-empted around this time of year (i.e. another ABC comedy "Its All Relative")
Also, despite lowish overall ratings since "American Idol" started, the show still does pretty well with people 18-34 which is the most important demographic for any show. |

If Teri is doing it as a favor to Warner Bros., I wonder if I'm with Her is big enough now for her presence to give a new show a boost in its debut. I don't know. Just a thought. Okay, more like just a hope. |

![]() As for the consistency of ABC scheduling "I'm WIth Her" through May, and the ratings in the 18-34 group, that is indeed a good sign. And we'll certainly see more of Teri Polo; remember, "Meet the Fockers" will be out in December!

I like I'm With Her a bit the few times I've seen it, it's alot funnier and fresh than "It's All Relative."
But.... ABC has ALOT of comedy pilots in the works. More than any other network and I would say that quite a few of them are in serious contention. The point? Enjoy this show while you can, because it probably won't be back. |

As for the sitcoms on ABC, According To Jim, My Wife & Kids, George Lopez, Hope & Faith & 8 Simple Rules will be back for sure, probably in the same timeslots.
My fav Less Than Perfect is kind of a buble show, but seeing as how it got extra episodes this season, it'll probably be back too. Married To the Kelleys will not be back, Life With Bonnie has a better than 50/50 chance of coming back and out of I'm with Her & It's All Relative, I think only one will make it. A good option for ABC would be to open another night of comedies, possibly on Thursday. Why? It's possible that only two sitcoms will be airing on the night next season, both on NBC. That leaves a big hole open for another network to slip in, and ABC should take advantage of it. As for I'm With Her coming back, personally I'm ambivalent. But I wouldn't count on it to be sure. As for ABC's comedy pilots. It has ALOT. I mean more than 10 and some of them seem very well cast, especially the Jessica Simpson project. No, not every one will be picked up, but ABC's a network with very little to lose, therefor it's going to take the biggest chances. |

If ABC cancels I'm with Her, so be it. But if they do, I'm done with them. As far as I'm concerned, I'm with Her is one of the most special shows on TV right now, and if ABC sees fit to pull the plug, they will lose me, too. Frankly, they have nothing else to offer me.
The 2003-2004 season has been the best in recent memory simply because of Alex Young and Patrick Owen. I don't know how many share that feeling, but I claim it absolutely. I'm having an extraordinary time. It's a genuine treat whenever a new episode is broadcast. I look forward to it every week. So we'll see. I guess no one is going to know for sure till May. As I've heard. But I hope in the final analysis there are enough of us out there to convince ABC that I'm with Her is worthy of renewal. Because let me tell you, whoever might be listening: It totally is. You have I'm with Her, you have me. So says SapphireSkies.

Tuesdays 8:00 p.m. 8 SIMPLE RULES 8:30 p.m. HOPE & FAITH 9:00 p.m. ACCORDING TO JIM 9:30 p.m. LESS THAN PERFECT Fridays: 8:00 p.m. GEORGE LOPEZ 8:30 p.m. JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT (NEW SHOW) 9:00 p.m. JESSICA SIMPSON (NEW SHOW) 9:30 p.m. I'M WITH HER As for Thursdays, I think maybe ABC will do at least one hour of sitcoms. Maybe, something like this: Thursdays: 8:00 p.m. MY WIFE & KIDS 8:30 p.m. IT'S ALL RELATIVE OR A NEW SITCOM 9:00 p.m. EXTREME MAKEOVER 10:00 p.m. PRIMETIME THURSDAY OR A NEW DRAMA Wednesdays at 8-9 p.m, they could air a new drama or reality series. I really don't know where they can move Life with Bonnie right now. Maybe they will air sitcom hour on Sundays at 7 and move AFV to Saturdays at 10? |

pavan,
I totally agree. I have thought for a while that "I'm with Her" would be ideal for the backend of ABC's TGIF thing. If it has been renewed as is rumored I could easily see that happening. |

The good thing for ABC is that it has so many options right now. But it really does have to develop a hit drama, the only drama is has doing anything aty all right now is NYPD Blue, and that's not saying much considering that it was also ABC's number one drama 10 years ago. Gulp.
ABC should go with its strength, which is comedies. But still, it needs a break-out comedy to really lift its line-up. Moving "Hope & Faith" to Tuesdays is not somethnig I had thought of, but it would give the show alot of extra exposure. Out of all the shows on ABC's current schedule, this is the one with the biggest break-out potential. |

Problem with moving anything to Tuesday's is that whatever goes there is gonna get destroyed by American Idol. It really is a black hole right now.
