Default Comet's Excellent Adventure

Well, I just watched Comet's Excellent Adventure. I'm digitally recording it when it comes on Nick@Nite in about a week, but today, I still tried to determine the locations as much as possible. Here's what I could come up with. When I refer to intros, I'm talking about the season 8 intro.

Scene 1: The area where Michelle loses the dog, where Stephanie meets up with Michelle, the scene where the car drives away, and the scene where Comet meets the other dog appears to be around Alta Plaza Park in Pacific Heights.

Scene 2: The little wooden outlook, where DJ breaks up with Nelson, and where Becky's introduction takes place, appears to be in some part along El Camino Del Mar Road in Lincoln Park. The twins' intro might be in this area as well.

Scene 3: The place where Michelle calls from to Joey is clearly the Hyatt Hotel, on Sutter and Stockton. It looks like when the group gets out of the limo after driving, they are near this area as well.

Scene 4: The chase for Comet definitely leads to Lombard Street. This, of course, is where Danny's intro takes place.

Scene 5: The Coit Tower area is where Jesse and Joey look for Comet.

Scene 6: Aquatic Park, near the Fisherman's Wharf Pier. This is where the "Wake Up San Francisco" is done in the show. I've been to this area a few times, and I've noticed that many other locations were shot here.

Michelle is having her portrait painted in that area, Stephanie has her walk across the beach there (I believe the boat in the background is called the C.A. Thayer), as well as Joey's entrace, Kimmy's entrace, and the scene where the three men jump off the fence with all the boards in the background.

I'll see if I can snap up some of these locations during Spring Break. Another thing I'm looking to add to my website is a map of San Francisco, with markers marking all the real places mentioned during the show, as well where all the locations were filmed.

For example, the Smash Club was mentioned to be on Green Street in "Smash Club: the Next Generation", which is an actual street in San Francisco.

I haven't seen it yet. I will watch this episode on ABC Family on my DVR after I'm watching "The Price Is Right". How do you like this picture of Mary-Kate (Ashley) & Comet in "Comet's Excellent Adventure"? This picture was big enough to fit. I can shortened this picture to make it look better.

Where did you get that photo? That's amazing quality. Looks like it was a still shot during the the video recording that was done there. By looking at that photo, it appears I was wrong for scene #1. It might actually be Alamo Park instead of Alta Plaza park. I'll have to see the show again and visit those locations to be sure though.

EDIT: Actually, I'm not quite sure either way. I'm trying to figure out where that apartment building is. It looks kind of like the big apartment building at Alamo Square, but not exactly.

I'm actually very curious to find out what block Michelle is standing on.

They might have pictures from that one during the taping of an episode called "Comet's Excellent Adventure".

Default Pictures from "Comet's Excellent Adventure" found at PBase.com

tgc225, I was watching that episode and played it many times in that the scene that they were a car to search for the dog Comet in which he was on the top of the Coit Tower with his Lassie looking dog. Here are these pictures from that episode I found off of PBase website:

This is the scene where an old Volkswagon Beetle drove down Lombard St. Here it is:

These are just 2 pictures I found from PBase. I'll try to find more later.

Cool

By the way, did anyone notice a few strange occurances during this show?

1) Why was Stephanie outside looking for Michelle in the first play? That scene made it look like Stephanie just went outside for her own reason and randomly bumped into Michelle. It was just kind of strange.

2) Michelle says that she's not allowed to cross the street by herself, yet she appears to be on a block that completely contains a park. That means she must have crossed a street to be where she was.

3) How did Michelle and Stephanie find DJ and Nelson? And how did they do it so quickly, too?

Oh, by the way, I just discovered another scene. I digitally recorded the season eight introduction during the last marathon, and I've been analyzing each scene.

I focused on Stephanie's intro, because that had a large boat in it. I remembered seeing that area where the boat was stationed. I had been in that area a few times before. Well, it turns out that the boat is parked on Hyde Street Pier. Here's a shot of the boat (not taken by me), named the Balclutha:

Attached below is the screen capture from Full House. That means Jodie is walking through Aquatic Park. That also means if I look carefully at the screen capture, I should be able to find the exact location where she walked across the beach.

I'll take a photo of my own from the same angle as from the season eight introduction as soon as I can for comparisons.

Cool! I love the part she walked in wet foot and the words "Jodie Sweetin" appeared in the 8th season credits. I love that one. I've been to Auqatic Park since 1996 while my Mom and Bob was there while we were vacationing in California. I have the picture that was taken 8 years ago. Look for one on my thread called "Look What I Found, Pictures from San Francisco" and find out.

Yeah, I liked that shot too.

Becky's with the backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge was a nice shot as well, though I haven't figured out from exactly what point that was shot yet. I assume it's the same place where DJ told Nelson they were breaking up.

Hopefully I'll have my own photos of those scenes too, possibly using an even better digital camera.

As I mentioned earlier, here is a screenshot of Jodie Sweetin smiling after she walks in the water in wet feet as the camera headed towards her. As you can see this picture, it does not have an ABC Family logo on the bottom right of the screen. This is courtesy of sweetin.com.

Well, today I took a quick trip down to Fisherman's Wharf, and I was able to do some more spotting of the season eight introduction. I didn't have my digital camera however, since my parents are on vacation now and using it. I'll have photos sometime soon.

1) I now know the exact spot where Stephanie walks on the beach.

2) I know the exact spot where Joey is rollerskating

3) I know the approximate spot of where Michelle is getting a picture painted of her

Attached is the scene with Joey. I still need to find various other scenes (Becky's, Kimmy's, the twins', the shot of the pier with Alcatraz in the background in season one, the shot of the three men with the boats in the background, etc)

This has almost become like a murder mystery for me. It's fun to look at the screen caps from the show, and to find landmarks in those photos to help in finding the actual locations.

For example, see that circular pier in the background of the photo? I knew where that pier was located. That pier also appears for a second during the Michelle season eight spot.

Not to sound mean again but i thought that this episode was kind of bad in a way because didn't Uncle Jesse tell Michelle she couldn't walk Comet by herself and she went and did it anyway and then he ran away and she couldn't cross the street. I'm not sure if i am totally right here but i think that's what happened.

I actually didn't think it was one of the greatest episodes either, but I really enjoy it because of it being set in San Francisco.

As for your question, Danny told Michelle she couldn't walk the dog, and it was Jesse's turn anyway. However, Jesse was busy talking on the phone, and Michelle tried to tell him to walk Comet. He didn't listen, and then just told Michelle to go and walk him.

I saw that vidcap where Joey was skating and the words "Dave Coulier" appears on the screen. That's cool.

I put pictures of the season 8 intro from my webcam. It appears to be a pier in which the artist painted Michelle. By the way, how do you like my avatar of the Olsen Twins' season 8 intro I made?
