Default A 22 year old traffic reporter on Local Philadelphia News admitted he was gay and now

is being made fun of by radio personalities in the city. He really could have kept that part of his life private. If he wants to be gay fine, but we really don't need to know.

I think it was brave of him to come out of the closet. I think that it is narrow-minded of those people to make fun of him because he is gay. It's things like that that make my blood boil.

So many people are trying to figure out what was the point of mentioning it.

After a person keeps a secret for so long, eventually, it weighs on them to the point where they just need to get it out in the open.

I agree that it was good for him to get that out and confront it head on. But VERY unprofessional to "come out of the closet" on TV. Good idea, but bad timing. There is a time and place.

I figure...if your a woman..and you only like women then you should say something. If i am trying to court you and your lying to me about your sexual preference then thats the only reason someone should be vocal about it. Other than that treat it like religion..unless someone ask the question dont just volunteer to provide an answer.

I agree. I mean, his sexuality really has nothing to do with traffic reporting. If he wanted to come out, I'm sure there's a publication in that town who would have listened to his story.

It was revealed in a newspaper interview not on the air. I left that part out.

That's a big part to leave out. That actually makes sense that it would be a story to sell newspapers. People on this thread seem to have gotten the impression that the guy gave his traffic report and then said, "Oh by the way, I'd like to come out as a gay man on the air." If all he did was tell his story for a newspaper article, that's no big deal.
