Default Vindication

After months and months of being attacked over my position concerning Hayley Mills leaving the show, I finally have the evidence I've been searching for that will proove my case. I found the following blurb in the trade publication Sitcom Industry Weekly dated January 15, 1989:

Quote:
Peter Engel announced this week that Hayley Mills, the star of his hit sitcom Good Morning Miss Bliss, will not return next season. How to write her departure into the script has yet to be determined. Although Engel described Mills's leaving as "entirely her decision," an industry insider told SIW, "This has been in the works for some time now. She's being forced out. It was almost done last season, but the producers decided to give her one more year. It's widely known that Peter thinks Hayley is too British for American audiences. I think he's making a big mistake." Mills wasn't immediately available for comment. This decision by Engel follows a tumultuous year off the set regarding allegations of misconduct involving various cast members.
So does anyone STILL think there isn't discrimination against British actors in this country? It's pretty hard to deny it after reading that.

Also, does anyone have any idea what the "allegations of misconduct" the article is referring too?

...I don't remember anyone discriminating her for being British.

The article comes right out and says that she was canned BECAUSE she's British. Go back to work on your website, it could use the attention.

Just because Hayley Mills didn't reach mainstream or huge success in the US, doesn't mean that we Americans are discriminating against British actors.

If this type of British discrimination was in fact true, there is no way actors like, Keira Knightley, Hugh Grant, and Elizabeth Hurley could of reached success here.

I think this comment speaks for itself.

Well, I for one, have never heard about Sitcom Industry Weekly, so honestly, I really don't believe your post, you could of easily made up that "article."

Can you post a link, scan, or anything that proves that this article in fact does exist?

That's complete bullcrap, I bet most of the Good Morning Miss Bliss viewers never even thought about her nationality.

I hadn't heard of it either until I spent FOUR MONTHS researching the subject. I have better things to do with my time than to prove myself to you. Besides, you'd find a reason to question any evidence I submitted if it conflicted with your warped view of reality. I think most people realize the truth now. Keep your head buried in the sand if you choose.

God Thrill just can not let this die! Very interesting though. I especially liked this comment!!

"This decision by Engel follows a tumultuous year off the set regarding allegations of misconduct involving various cast members."

Hmmmmmmmm I wonder who broke that news to the board a couple of months ago!!!!!!! Could it have been...................ME!!!

I questioned the validity of the article until I read that quote!!

Apparently you don't have better things to do with your time if you really spent four months researching something so ridiculous.

Just to prove my point on how much British Actors Suck!!! Here is a list of memorable scenes from Hayley Mills!!!

http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~FG5M-OGM...y/scenes_e.htm

Memorable Scenes???????? I don't even remember any of these movies!!! Plus she stole someone elses work in the filming of "That Darn Cat". The producers got sued over that one!! A young and up coming producer named Brad Amerson copyrighted the story but Hayley and crew stole it!! The original "That Darn Cat" that Amerson wrote about was about a zany cat named Snowball and his wild adventures!!!

OK, I admit it. I went through the trouble of making up a trade magazine AND an article from that made up magazine for a stupid message board to convince people that I don't even know that I'm right. Yep, you guessed it. You're a regular Matlock aren't you?

Just because you all are too lazy and/or incompetent to do your own research, you turn on the one person who brings FACTS to the discussion.
