I know that Lucy and Desi took some trips to Europe and Hawaii during the 50s -- but I never recall hearing anything about where they traveled to in the 40s (other than the various spots around the country that Desi's band was playing and Lucy's stops when she was touring with the theatre). Does anyone know where they traveled to, if anywhere, during their first decade of marriage?

I think you hit the nail right on the head, they were struggling financially because they loved to live well, and he travelled with his band and she for pictures all the time so they treasured their time at the ranchito more than travelling.

Well they traveled somewhere because I've seen pics of them in the snow.

Well, i didn't say they NEVER went away, Sun Valley was a favorite place of hers, actually, any place that had snow was a favorite of hers.

Sun Valley was Ann Sother's favorite place so she told Lucy about it and Lucy loved the snow, i'm sure Desi didn't, coming from a hot climate like he did.

Yes dear, but when one gets it once every ten years like you do in Texas, then i would LOVE it too, LOL! Try six months of it with below zero temperatures, then get back to me!

But still, like splain said, it sucks when it's everyday for 6 months compared to once a year in Texas. You're lucky to live where it's warmer desilover. (at least I think so) It's 48 degrees here today and that's considered a heatwave. Plus it sucks when your electric bill is more than your mortgage!!!! And your heat is at 60 and you're freezing and the bill is more than your paycheck so you can't buy any ebay stuff and you...............aw never mind. I'm done.

Then maybe you should consider voting for someone else in the next election, you are certainly NOT better off than you were four years ago, LOL!
Too hard to resist hon, and your posts are very funny. I can relate, we have more hydro power than almost any other place in the world, so we sell it to the Americans cheaper than what WE pay for it, my electric bill for winter could keep Nancy Reagan in red dresses for a year!
