Default June at Her Stupidest!

Guys,

There are two funny lines that show that from time to time June could be her dumbest! Note that I don't remember the episode on the first one.

1.) June accuses Wally of doing something and Wally says that he didn't do what he was accused of. June says, "Well, do you think it might have been your brother Beaver?" Wally says, "Yea Mom, that's the brother I was thinking of!!!

2.) The one where Eddie and Lumpy get caught cheating on the history test (or trying to cheat.) Wally gets a 92, and Eddie in particular thinks "No guy could do that good without cheating." Wally's history teacher, Mr.Gannon calls home to talk to Wally about coming in to meet with him the next day. June (where elese would she be but listening in on Wally and Beaver's phone calls?!) is in the living room. Wally hangs up and says, "Boy...Mr. Gannon wants to see me before school tomorrow morning." June says, 'Well, you got a good mark on the test, maybe he wants to give you a prize or something!"

Wally says, they don't give prizes Mom. This is high school!

How about in the "Forgotten Party" episode, where Beaver wants to pretend to take her picture with no film in the camera? She is so vain she didn't even want him to do that when she had"old" clothes on!

She was a great mom, just a little snobbish and vain at times!

Now wait a minute...There were some times that showed June was quite smart - like when she was explaining to Wally how the stock market worked.

I don't look upon those incidences as June being stupid - just a little naive or "clueless" perhaps. I personally hated the lines that made June seem dumb. June was a very good mom - a little over-protective or obsessive with the boys' social lives at times - but then what do you expect for a mom who has no job outside the home and whose most exciting event of the week is going to the Garden Club Meeting!

Hey!

I agree with you! June could be very smart more often than not! I should have implied that the times when June was made to look dumb were rare. They were clearly the exception and not the rule. Her nosyness was her only downfall! I love this woman!

She locked the door when Beaver and Wally camped outside in the backyard. Ward unlocked the door in the middle of the night. If he hadn't the boys would have been drenched from the rain storm later that night.

How about when June said that Ward should ask them to start the sporting events earlier, so he could read the results in the paper sooner? That sounded more like a Burns and Allen sketch. LOL

I must have a few screws loose as well, because I don't really get this one either.
