Thumbs up Just got my Prince tickets

I know you guys probably don't care, but still I'm excited: I'll be seeing Prince live in concert when he comes to Madison Square Garden later this year. I just purchased tickets for the show online a few minutes ago. I've only seen him once before at MSG, so I'm looking forward to seeing him perform again. It had better be a good show too, for the prices I paid.

That is great news! And I envy you getting to go. I won't be able to go when he comes to L.A. because of not having enough money. I know he will put on a great show! Have a good time! I wish I were going too!

Thanks. I know what you mean. I'm embarrassed to say how much the tix cost. I realize it's been a while since I've been to a concert, but if these prices are the norm nowadays...

vashti1999, every once in awhile we all deserve to splurge on ourselves, don't worry about the price. Enjoy the concert!

I noticed Prince has expanded the tour! It's on Billboard.com in the news section. I kinda wanna go, hopefulyl I can scrape up $65 and see the man. Bowie sold out before I had the chance to get a ticket and there's no way in Hell I'm paying $500 to see Madonna, so Prince is definately THE tour for 2004 for me

Is that the top price for a Madonna ticket? I thought I read somewhere they go as low as around $40. It has been a long time since I've been to a concert. $40 used to be the high price.

HEY!! I CARE!! Because I'm going to see him, too on April 26th in Tampa. I paid $125 for 2 tix. I'm not complaining, though. Yeah, a little pricey but it's Prince who I've never been able to see live before. What gets me is the astronomical service charges--3.50 facility charge, 22.80 for convenience charge! It's ridiculous! One good thing is that he playing in the round though. That's always cool. I can't wait. Have a good time at your show, too, vashti!!

Thanks Undercover angel. Congrats phoebe7165, hope you enjoy the show too. I tell you it must be something about Madison Square Garden and NYC because $125 is a bargain compared to the price of my pair, but it might have something to do with my seats being on the floor, close to the stage. I won't see him till July, so you'll have to give a review after your concert. Enjoy it!

Default Prince drummer's daughter drowns in pool

I've got less than two weeks now 'til I see Prince at MSG here in NYC on July 12, and it looks like it'll be an emotional show. It'll be the first concert performed after this unfortunate postponement, reported on a South Carolina based news site:

John Blackwell Jr. was in Columbia, South Carolina back in April, jamming at his alma mater Keenan High School before his concert with Prince. Then a month later, the Columbia native held his daughter Jia as he accepted the key to the city.

The drummer's worst nightmare came true Sunday at his home in California. His 27-month-old daughter wandered into the family's backyard and fell into the family's pool.

Blackwell's fans from New York to Germany have wasted no time flocking to his web site to offer their condolences. In a statement from Blackwell on Tuesday: "This is so hard...she was my baby girl...we want everyone in Columbia to know that we appreciate their thoughts and prayers...please keep praying for us."

Prince has rescheduled four shows at Chicago's Allstate Arena due to a death. Last night's (June 28) performance has been moved to July 22, while tonight's show will now be held July 23. Tomorrow's concert will be made-up on July 24. A show scrapped last Saturday will be held Aug. 3.

Tickets for the postponed shows will be honored on the new dates. Refunds are also available at points of purchase. Prince's Musicology tour will resume July 12 with the first of three shows at New York's Madison Square Garden.

If you would like to send flowers:

Higgins Chapel
1310 A Street
Antioch, California 94509
The phone number is (925) 757-4343.

Little Jia will be laid to rest Saturday at 10:00am.

vashti1999 I know alot of people who have seen the show and they say it was really good. I talked with a woman in a dept. store a couple of weeks ago and she was playing his CD at the counter and she said she had gone to the show, and that Sheila E. was a surprise guest and that he was excellent, so it will be worth the money. Have a great time!

Thanks. I'm looking forward to it. I'm expecting something special that night seeing how it'll be the first NYC show, I figure Prince'll have some surprise planned. I just know I'll part with even more money because I'll want the t-shirt, the calendar, the coffee mug, the keychain and whatever other junk they'll be selling at the concert.
