In many instances, you can't compare the NBC episodes with the Syndicated ones. Like the whole bedroom thing.

Yeah, they are really two different shows in some ways. The syndicated episodes are so different (and better to me) than the NBC ones were. And some different people worked on the syndicated episodes, so they probably never went back to keep things consistent with the NBC years.

But the fact they even made Iola a bonified Boylen shows that they did look to the NBC shows.

Maybe Ms. Boylan was takin' out the trash for an invalid neighbor down the street...which would be ironic foreshadowing, lol.

Or maybe Frannie's car was parked down the street, and Mama did pass Ms. Boylen across from her own house. lol

Iola's house was not supposed to be straight across the street from Momma's house, it was across the Street and down a little like in an angle where you could see it from Momma's house.

When they went to knock down Momma's house Iola came running up the Street to Momma's house from her house.

When The one lady who won the Crysyal thorn rose award so many times she was banned from entering the contest. When she left Iola came running up the Street saying I say(could never remember that ladies name) left what did she want?

Other episodes Like when momma tried to fix Iola up on dates and on the one date Iola ends up going on a hay ride for couples, and she comes walking back with one heel broke off and says I was on a hay ride for couples on a dark bck road and fell off and Bubba says did anyone notice and Iola says they were to busy to notice I was gone and had to walk all the way back. She gets mad a momma and walks down the Street to her house.

So Iola and Momma was supposed to live in an angle to each other on oppiste sides of the road where they could still see each others house.

What I've noticed with that episode is that when Mama's driving - true, she yells to "Ms. Boylen" but the lady they actually show is on the other side of the street of where she was waving and yelling...to back up my claim, the lady they show is not overweight, but Iola always makes her mother out to be massively obese. Figure out doe's apples...

I always thought that woman at the trash can and Ms. Boylen were two different people. I thought Mama was waving to Ms. Boylen across the street and just happened to drive past the lady with the trash can. Just my thoughts... However, I can see where that woman could have meant to be Ms. Boylen too. I guess it is just one of those things we will never know for sure.

I don't know about that...every time Mama yells at Iola in her yard or the Harpers look at her off camera, it's always directly across the street. And when Iola storms off to her house, it's always directly across.

The "April Fools" and "The Big Wheel" episodes are clear indications that Iola lives directly across from the Harpers. If she sometimes appears to come at an angle, it could just be where she has to walk...such as around rosebushes in the Crystal Thorn episode.

And if she does come at angle sometime (though I don't recall that---I'd have to watch for it now), maybe she just happened to be out for a walk. lol

I still don't believe it was Ms. Boylen. I mean, if you were driving down a street - saw someone you knew on the right side, would you yell and wave out the left window? I don't think so...

Well if you're driving, the only access you have is the left window. She looked to the right, but waved out the left window so Ms. Boylen could see her.
