Final Four Sitcom-Style

Presenting the First Final Four Sitcom Tournament, an idea that I created which is based on the NCAA tourney that began this week, but is tons more exciting! (Personally, I'll take hockey over basketball any day and twice on Saturdays! GO LEAFS GO!). Here's how the game will work.

1. There are 64 sitcoms in all, divided in 4 groups of 16 each. The "brackets" will look like this:

A. 1950s/1960s sitcoms
B. 1970s sitcoms
C. 1980s sitcoms
D. 1990s/2000s sitcoms

The Final Four will pit the eventual champion of Group A vs the winner of Group D and Group B will face Group C.

2. The shows will be seeded according to a post I created last year where I tried to choose the top 50 sitcoms of all time. In case you forgot, "Cheers" finished first. How will it do this time? You decide.

3. For each pair of shows (ex. Cheers vs MASH) you have to choose which one you think is better or which one you like the best. All votes will be counted with the results to be announced next Friday, when Round 2 will begin with 32 sitcoms in all.

4. In case of ties, I get the deciding vote. All decisions made by me are final. Be very afraid!

5. If you see a show that you feel doesn't deserve to be there then vote for its opponent. If you don't like either series then pick the lesser of the two evils.
