Default The Great TV/Basement Experiment ... Humor Me!

Let's say you are part of an experiment. You are locked in a basement for five years (don't worry, there will be a couple other people, so you don't get lonely). You're aloud to bring every episode of a few shows with you. You can watch nothing but the shows you pick. To make it more interesting, I am giving different categories for shows.

3 Sitcoms from the 1950's to 1960's:

3 Sitcoms from the 1970's to 1980's:

3 Sitcoms from the 1990's to Present:

3 Animated Sitcoms:

3 Dramas/Sci-Fi:

3 Sid and Marty Krofft Shows:

============
My Choices:
============

3 Sitcoms from the 1950's to 1960's:
-The Donna Reed Show (1958-1966)
-My Three Sons (1960-1972)
-Mister Ed (1961-1965)

3 Sitcoms from the 1970's to 1980's:
-Taxi (1978-1983)
-ALF (1986-1990)
-Perfect Strangers (1986-1993)

3 Sitcoms from the 1990's to Present:
-NewsRadio (1995-1999)
-Wings (1990-1997)
-Boy Meets World (1993-2000)

3 Animated Sitcoms:
-Futurama
-King of the Hill
-Family Guy

3 Dramas/Sci-Fi:
-Quantum Leap (1989-1993)
-Sliders (1995-2000)
-Life Goes On (1989-1993)

3 Sid and Marty Krofft Shows:
-Land of the Lost
-Sigmund and the Sea Monsters
-Far Out Space Nuts

Actually, I wish this would happen. I'd have the time of my life!!

Default Re: The Great TV/Basement Experiment ... Humor Me!

3 Sitcoms from the 1950's to 1960's:

My Three Sons (1960-1972)
McHale's Navy (1962-1966)
The Lucy Show (1962-1968)

3 Sitcoms from the 1970's to 1980's:

The Bob Newhart Show (1972-1978)
Happy Days (1974-1984)
Mork & Mindy (1978-1982)

3 Sitcoms from the 1990's to Present:

Family Matters (1989-1998)
Coach (1989-1997)
Frasier (1993-2004)

3 Animated Sitcoms:

The Simpsons (1989-present)
Family Guy (1999-2002)

I'll trade a third one (see below)

3 Dramas/Sci-Fi:

Alfred Hitchcock Presents/The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1955-65)
Mission: Impossible (1966-1973)
Fantasy Island (1977-1984)

3 Sid and Marty Krofft Shows:

None

I'll trade for these shows:

The F.B.I. (1965-1974)
Cannon (1971-1976)
Barnaby Jones (1973-1980)
Mystery Science Theater 3000 (1988-1999)

Aside from two shows, Mork & Mindy, and Family Guy, I chose shows that have a lot of episodes.

My Three Sons (380 + reunion)
McHale's Navy (138)
The Lucy Show (156)
The Bob Newhart Show (142)
Happy Days (255)
Mork & Mindy (95)
Family Matters (215)
Coach (200)
Frasier (259)
The Simpsons (333+)
Family Guy (51)
Alfred Hitchcock Presents/The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (361)
Mission: Impossible (171)
Fantasy Island (157 plus pilot movie)
The F.B.I. (240)
Cannon (124 + pilot movie and reunion movie)
Barnaby Jones (178)
Mystery Science Theater 3000 (210, including all specials and videos and the unaired pilot)

That would be 3,669 episodes, pilot movies, and TV movies.

Can I trade the "3 Sid and Marty Krofft Shows"/"3 Dramas/Sci-Fi" for more Sitcoms??

3 Sitcoms from the 1950's to 1960's:
I Love Lucy
The Dick Van Dyke Show
My Three Sons

3 Sitcoms from the 1970's to 1980's:
Cheers
Happy Days
Taxi

3 Sitcoms from the 1990's to Present:
Frasier
Seinfeld
Family Matters

3 Animated Sitcoms:
The Flintstones
The Jetsons (including episodes from the 80s)
The Simpsons (just because theres SO many)

3 Dramas/Sci-Fi:
REPLACEMENT: Diff'rent Strokes
REPLACEMENT: Bewitched
REPLACEMENT: Home Improvement

3 Sid and Marty Krofft Shows:
REPLACEMENT: Laverne & Shirley
REPLACEMENT: SNL
REPLACEMENT: The Facts of Life

I dont think "Sid & Marty Krofft" have enough shows to be an entire category.
I think this should change to:

3 Sitcoms from the 1950's

3 Sitcoms from the 1960's

3 Sitcoms from the 1970's

3 Sitcoms from the 1980's

3 Sitcoms from the 1990's

3 Present Sitcoms

3 Animated Sitcoms

3 Dramas/Sci-Fi:

3 Variety/Reality/Talk Show

3 Sitcoms from the 1950's to 1960's:
I Love Lucy
The Dick Van Dyke Show
My Three Sons (because the first five seasons are classics, and there are almost 400 episodes, so it would take me a while to get bored with it).

3 Sitcoms from the 1970's to 1980's:
All in the Family
Cheers
Newhart

3 Sitcoms from the 1990's to Present:
Seinfeld
Roseanne
Friends (due more to the length and consistence of quality, not because it's a favorite. I like "Parker Lewis" better, for instance, but there are much fewer episodes.)

3 Animated Sitcoms:
Simpsons
Family Guy
King of the Hill

3 Dramas/Sci-Fi:
St. Elsewhere
L.A. Law
Dallas

3 Sid and Marty Krofft Shows:
Ugh -- none of them. I'd trade these for selected episodes of other guilty pleasures, like "The Brady Bunch", "The Partridge Family", and "I Dream of Jeannie".

Default only need ONE

I would only need one show, but all 438 episodes.
The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.

If I had take on other show, it would be My Three Sons.

70's/80's Sitcoms: The Brady Bunch, The Facts of Life, Carol Burnett,

90's to Present: none

Animated: Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby Doo,

3 Dramas: Waltons, Little House, Touched by an Angel,

Since I'm not bringing anything current or from Kroft, I will bring the old Little Rascals and some screwball comedies from the 30's and 40's. And a few good books, too.

Wow, I have no memory of starting this thread at all, lol. I guess by this point, we can add another category... 3 Sitcoms from the 2000s.

Seems like the Sid and Marty Krofft category was dumb. I must have been watching some of those shows around that time, haha.
