For anyone who's seen this series, would you recommend me buying the dvd? I like most shows, dramas and comedies, that have to do with high school, and I have a heavy interest in tv dvds. I'm thinking about doing a blind buy, but would like to hear some words from people who've seen it about how good it is.

And I think it ran for 2 seasons, not just one. Heckuva lot longer than That's My Mama...

"Freaks and Geeks" was a very good show. It could be screamingly funny one minute and sad the next. The situations and characterizations in the show were more real than any other show about teenagers.
It was a great show that should have been around longer than two seasons. I would buy it.

You can't really compare That's My Mama to Freaks and Geeks because That's My Mama was on ABC. Freaks and Geeks was on FOX. So EXPECTATIONS WERE HIGHER FOR THAT"S MY MAMA!!!!!!! |

Nanny Fine and TJL, thanks for your responses. I'm definitely leaning towards getting it, I alwas wanted to watch it when it was on the air but was always watching something else that was on at the same time. It was just a one year series, only 18 episodes, three of which never even aired, according to tvtome. And SA, it wasn't a Fox show, it was NBC.

My comment can be ignored now because Freaks and Geeks was on NBC. I thought it was on FOX |

I VERY vividly remember watching F&G in its original run (the 1999-2000 season). After it ended, they had F&G on in reruns until sometime during the 2000-01 season. I think it was taken off NBC sometime in EARLY 2001 (January or February). I was in 9th grade when F&G started and in 10th when they took it off. |
