All-time favorite scene(s)

Hey everyone!
Where has everyone been this past week?
I'll tell ya where I've been- doing homework! AAAH!
But anyway, I've finished all my homework for the weekend and I realized that here's hardly been any activity here on the board all week!

So...
I don't think we've ever really discussed this before.. but
What is/are your favorite scene/scenes out of the whole series of Wings, and why?
I'll tell you mine later after I get some responses. hehe

WOW, that's a TOUGH one, Krista! There are so MANY great scenes during the course of the series...but here are three of my favorites that immediately come to mind:

1. The "Trivial Pursuit" game in "Sports and Leisure"....HILARIOUS!

2. Helen slopping ketchup all over herself while she's wearing Casey's best dress in "Burnin' Down The House, Part 2". Casey's wide-eyed horror reaction is PRICELESS, and Helen doesn't even BLINK!

3. And while this next one isn't funny like the above two, one of my favorite scenes HAS to be Joe's proposal to Helen in the elevator....That scene really packs a whollop, and is kind of our "reward" for sticking with the series up to that point!

one of my fave scenes which i think is acted fantastically (....is that a word?? by Crystal is in the episode "Boys will be Girls" , Its the scene in the office where Helen finds out what Joe & Brian have done to the Coach, but she thinks they killed him when only they just made him look like a girl.

That scene cracks me up Everytime!!

It's hard to choose my all-time favorite funny scene because there are TOO MANY favorite funny scenes!

But in general, I think I have 3 all-time favorites...
And I just realized that they're all Joe/Helen scenes... hmmm...
but here they are:

-Joe's marriage proposal to Helen in the elevator.. I agree, pilotguy. it was powerful! It made me tingly. haha.

-that scene in "A Decent Proposal", when Joe goes over to Helen's house to congratulate her after he found out about her engagement to Davis... I remember especially the first time I saw that scene... like, as soon as Joe walks into Helen's house, you can feel the tension because you're sitting there watching it like, "These two are supposed to be together! What's this Davis Lynch Crap!" and then you see that Joe and Helen are realizing the same thing. haha But yeah, I love how that scene is acted out. It's like, they're both realizing that once Helen gets married, things between her and Joe will never be the same again, and the tension is mounting and the sparks are flying.... and they kiss.. and you're like, "YES! FINALLY!" and then the phone rings, and its awkward, so Joe leaves without saying a word, and you're like, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"!!
Great scene. That one makes me tingly too. haha.

-and then I love that scene at the end of "The Puppetmaster" (see: Krista's avatar. haha)... you know, Joe and Helen's kiss that starts off as Helen demonstrating to Joe a better way to kiss than the way he kissed her in the previous scene when they were trying to freak Brian out to get back at him...
It's so cute how Joe was all shy at first. He was like, "what? you want to kiss me again??!" lol. And I love that kiss because it looks like such a sweet kiss, and at the same time, the sparks are flying between them. That kiss makes me feel floaty. haha. Oh! and then after they kissed, when Joe goes to leave, and he trips over all of the chairs and rolls off onto the floor. haha that makes me giggle every time.


but yeah, those are 3 of my favorite scenes out of the whole series.
I guess I like the scenes that alter my physical reality and make me feel like I'm floating or something...

ok I'm tired and crazy. Work blew today. I need to go watch Wings and go to bed.

Hmmm... Yes, very hard question. I'd have to say:

1) In the "Puppetmaster" after Joe kisses Helen and then turns and falls over the chairs.

2) In "Ladies Who Lunch" when Joe & Helen were hitting each other with meat.

YES, YES....The "meat-slapping" scene...HOW could I have forgotten THAT one? That bit was the ULTIMATE in "sexual tension" (and FUNNY too)!

That was a good scene where Joe and Helen were hitting each other with the meat with flour on it.

Where Roy says to Fay I do not care if that is the answer do not say it, when they were playing trivia pursuit, and Fay says Anne Margrette and Roy goes nuts.

The old man who said he would pay Joe and Brian lots of money if they flew him to Los Crusses New Mexico, so they did and Joe and Brian were in the airplane watching as the old man was fighting another old man and then the old man gets back in and looks at the pocket watch and says dad didn't have a pocket watch wait a minute that isn't my brother my brother lives in Santa Fe(I think) they said oh no, then he says just kidden.

The old man again when he fell and got hurt on Helen's property and was tied up in bed and he asked for all his cats to be brought over and they brought over like 50 cats and he drove Helen nuts with his constant ringing of the bell, screaming water, water.

Can't get any more annoying then that old guy. To bad they didn't have him on more.

Where the guys were sitting around a table at the airport and someone asked who do you think is the sexiest guy alive, they come to Lowell and he says with a shadow of a doubt in my mind the sexiest guy alive is Tom Petty and everyone looks at him like what the hell. Then he says I have no idea what Lyle Lovett ever saw in Julia Roberts.

When everyone thought the old man was going to die, and Joe and Helen thought they were going to inheret his house, and Gilbert Godfry shows up as the old mans nephew, that whole episode was funny.

Joe and Helen once got into a huge fight in the hanger which involved a grease gun and fire extinguisher.

The whole episode where everyone is hyptiesed, and Roy pretends he is and tells them he buried money and they go dig up his yard only to find out he was going to put in a hot tub and they put the dirt in his shed like building.

I also like the whole "hypnosis" segment when the airport is fogged in.....from Lowell's "Once when I was out of underwear......" deepest, darkest secret to Roy's "Button & Bows" dance, followed by Antonio wanting to be hypnotized to forget what he just saw........

I always liked the small moments in the show:

>Joe & Helen at Indian Point making out, then Brian pops out from the back seat.

>Helen realizing Joe had given her his mother's locket/cameo.

>The flashback of the brothers as boys running around with their arms out pretending they were flying.

That kind of stuff made the show more endearing to me rather than the usual comedy sketch fair that's on TV now.

BTW, if you're ever at a party or in a group of people talking and someone dominates the convo and you want to get a word in, use Lowell's line, "Once when I was out of underwear...." and then take a loooooooooooong pause. Works every time! Believe me, you will get everyone's attention!!!! Of course, you ought to be prepared to say something after that.

There are too many funny scenes to choose from. Some of my favorites are...

-Roy passing out at the Red Sox game.
-The Trivial Pursuit game.
-Antonio thinking Fred Watts is coming after him.
-The endings of Puppetmaster and Murder, She Roast.
-Joe and Helen slapping each other with meat.
-The hostage standoff in Insanity Claus.
-The guys talking about sexy guys.
-The dinner scene in Black Eye Affair.

My favorite serious scene is Joe's proposal to Helen.

This is a little off topic... but I just finished transcribing "The Puppermaster" for Robo, and I thought I'd throw this in.

Most of the scenes in this one where Helen or Joe was speaking -- I got the lines down almost verbatim straight out of memory. But Brian's lines I almost always got wrong!

It's because Brian has this way of talking where he says something several times, or he words sentences in a way I wouldn't have worded them. I wonder if the writers wrote the lines that way, or if Steven Weber changed them a bit.

One example is when Joe kisses Helen. Brian says, "Wait a minute" at least SIX times (really fast) before he says, "You love Joe now?"

And he rarely just says, "Joe" he often says, "Joe, Joe, Joe" real fast. It's like his hyperactivity really comes out through the way he talks.

My favorite sceen is when it is Lowells last day and he thought that he had a couple of months and then relizes he has only 3 minutes to say goodbye.

Alot of mine have already been mentioned like the proposal in the elevator and Joe giving Helen his mother's cameo.

Also, after Helen walks out on Joe's flight school and tells him he's boring and that Lowell watched an ant push a grain of salt across his desk and "you know what? I envied him!"

When a little tipsy Helen tells everybody off who was mean to her in school, at the class reunion. I know there's more to what she said because I saw this episode in prime time. USA & N@N cut a little out. I don't remember what else she said, though.

When Helen puts a pie in Carol's face.

There's so many to pick from. Why must you torture me?!!
