I am watching Good Times again for the first time in years. I own Season 1 and 2 DVDs. To date, my least favorite episode was the one about the boozing cousin. There wasn't much to it. It didn't even give any real resoloution to the plot.

There were several episodes of Good Times that didn't give resolution to the plot. But yes you are right, the episode was about a cousin who was secretly an alcoholic and after she faints, you hear nothing else about her situation. You don't hear if she received help or if she gotten worse. Which is why I always thought this show LACKED good writers. |

I know Letterman was a writer on Good Times, which is why Jimmie Walker still is a frequent guest on his show. They even talked about working together on Good Times a couple years ago. I don't know if Leno was a writer on GT or not. I'm sure someone here knows the answer to that.

I know Leno made a guest appearance but even if Letterman and Leno were writers for the show, they would mean they were BAD WRITERS |

I must admit that always bothered me about sitcoms! How that don't resolve issues. And how they have writers for shows that were topical who lacked experience from which their writing about! I think there was a episode of What's Happening that dealt with something like that?

In the episode-"J.J in Trouble" J.J goes to the free clinic when he thinks he has VD and while he is in there, a young Jay Leno askes him why he was there. Jay was around 27 at the time. |
