There was a UM story that aired in 2001 concerning a cadaver sniffing dog named Eagle and his owner Sandra Anderson. Here is the link: www.unsolved.com/0108-CadaverDogs.html
He was supposedly credited with helping solve murder cases. It was uncovered that it was a hoax and his owner had been planting small bones for him to find. He died in November and she could get up to 30 years in prison for it. It was featured on 48 Hours and here's the link: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/...in605483.shtml |

That's just crazy. What did she have to gain from doing this ?

My mom works at a parish rectory in Michigan and across the street from the parish elementary school was where some bodies were buried and I believe that is what they call the old cemetary. When they found a place for a new cemetary they moved all the bodies from the old cemetary to the new one. This lady which I believe is the same one came to the parish rectory last year with her cadaver dogs wanting to search the old cemetary for bodies and even though they were told no they did it anyway and didn't find anything. The parish knew they wouldn't find anything because they knew they had already found all the bodies with there own cadaver dogs and moved them to the new cemetary.
Then my mom found out that the lady hid bones up her sleeve and would plant them on the property. My mom told me this lady was also on Unsolved Mysteries to I think it is the same person. |

The only plausible explanation for why she did it was for the attention. Of course, the dog was the innocent party and didn't know what was going on. A line in one of the article said it best. "A supposed life of good deeds gone down the toilet!"

Unbelievable.
Well, she obviously got something in which she wanted and that was to appear on UM. Too bad she had to be dishonest in order to do so. She should be ashamed of herself for using that dog the way she did. |

That is really such a shame. That segment happens to be one of my favorites to watch. I wonder if there are any other UM stories that are hoaxes. I know the segment about the Russian princess, Anastasia, was found to be a hoax.

I guess the fleshy bones Eagle found in the river were also planted. What scum. |

Although it can't be proven, I think that the story of the man who claims to have seen his identical twin at the military train station is also a hoax. Does anyone remember this case, and if so, what do you think?

I recall a story about these teenage girls, who were part of some religious group, that claimed they had seen and photographed angels and the Virgin Mary. UM brought in a photography expert who came up with some rather mundane (but probable) explanations for the images the girls captured. I doubt this was an intentional hoax. More than likely, these girls simply saw what they wanted to see in the photos, and embellished a tad to make it all sound believable. Justin |

I would hate for the train station one to be a hoax. I was always hoping there would be an update.

I still don't quite understand. Did the dog help at all in any of the cases and it was just his owner the entire time planting bones?
But the dog did help find blood in the Mevano Kupasa case? I'm confused. |

I remember them stating that DNA testing showed no connection between Anna Anderson and the Romanovs. I remember watching a show later on about Anna and the DNA testing they did with her remaining tissue and one of the distant cousins of the Czar, though I have my disputes about that. I don't remember hearing about the story of the cadaver dog, but that's a lousy thing to do. |

I live in the area that the lady is from, and where she did a good amonut of her work in. What she did was take her dog into a site that the police though was where the body was at, and drop human bones on the ground. A few, and I do mean a few, of the cases that she worked on where no hoxes, but most of the ones where. The reason she did it was for the money. Private citizens that have a dog that can sniff out cadavers recieve a fee for their work. The more you are correct the more work you get.
