Post Comment on The Facts of Life Tape From Columbia House

I was just wondering if any of you would agree with me on this. Dont you think that The Return of Mr. Garrett might have belonged on the first tape, which was titled, "Mrs. Garrett"?

Well, I will be able to answer that better when and if I receive it. How long did it take for you to receive your first copy (from the time they called you and told you that they processed your order)?

But dont you think that it was a little weird that it was supposed to be about Mrs. Garrett and they left an episode with her ex husband out of it?

Maybe that's why mine is taking so long. I should be getting my 1st copy for $.89 plus S&H.

OK,

I finally rec'd my 1st copy, and here's what I think:

First of all, the 1st volume focuses on Season One only, so I really think that they should have put a picture of the first season girls and not Jo and the girls on the cover of the video case (hey Jo fans, Jo is my favorite too, but she's not part of season one). Though most of us think season one is cheesy (and I agree), the season one cast deserves a lot more credit than most us give them (I too am guilty of knocking season one).

Second, I have no idea why they titled it "Mrs. Garrett" since MOST eps up till season 7 have something to do with Mrs. G. On the other hand, I myself couldn't come up with something better, so I guess I'm being a little too critical here. Anyway, "The Return of Mr. Garrett" probably wouldn't fit into this volume because the basic theme seems to be Mrs. G as an adviser to the girls, and not her personal problems.

Third, it's great to have these eps in their original form (no cut scenes), although I didn't see a whole lot more than what we already saw on N@N. I.E., it seems like there weren't that many scenes cut from those versions we saw on N@N.

Anyway, these are just my thoughts. I never thought I'd be glad to have a copy of season one eps though!

On N@N did they cut the theme song of the first ep of FOL (not the pilot on DS) because it seemed longer to me on the Columbia House tape. They might have had the theme song exactly like the tape from Columbia House I cant remember.

Nope, I'm pretty sure that N@N did not cut it. I remember it being that long on N@N too- where the DS gang were included in the opening credits.

Boy, if there's one good thing about season one- it makes me real thirsty for season two. Season two would not be as exciting if it were not for season one.

Hey- did you buy the volume w/ the controversial eps yet? I will not buy too many volumes from Columbia House since it's free to tape them from N@N. Hopefully, CH will make volumes for all of the rest of controversial eps too.
