Angry Need help with moved files...

Ok, so Im using KaZaA Lite and all the songs I DL go to C: My Shared Folder. Well, I DL some things last nite from websites, and when those DL they go to C: Download. So I decided to move them to My Shared Folder so I wouldnt have to open up to diff. music programs. Well, I just got done moving them to My Shared Folder, and now theyre not there. They said they were there, then once I closed the window and re-opened it to re-check, they disappeared! Why?! Where did they go? I cant find them in My Shared Folder nor can I find them in Download. Is there a way where I can backtrack and view any recent changes I did to my comp?

you can do a search and maybe they will show up

click on the start button and then search and then all files and folders and type in the name of the file

Well, it was doing that, but I dont know the exact names of the files. I went to the program where I DL them, and they were gone too. Meangya. Ima do a System Restore after TRL so it goes back to yesterday and hopefully thatll work. Weird, because I just moved a random song to there, and I can see it.

I knew it. *slaps self* I knew for some reason when I moved all the files, I didnt fully click on the place where I wanted them to go. Needless to say, they went in my Gidget folder. I so knew it, though Im just checking now.

i think that is the 3rd rule of computing:

always check the Gidget folder first!

I spoke too soon. 4 files were in there, but Im still pissing about 3-4 more. Im doing a search, but Im not seeing any results in the future. Isnt there a way where you can backtrack any recent changes you make to folders?

maybe you should make it a practice to copy the files first, then delete them from the old location afterwards?

Well, I was gonna do that, but then I figured Id wind up deleting them before pasting them. I highlighted them instead and clicked on 'moved file'... evidently though even though I clicked My Shared Folder, it was still on a different location.

you could also just add your shared folder to your "Sendto" folder - that way you could just right-click on your files and use the sendto command to move them there
