Smile I saw Dorothy Lyman on The Nanny!

I already posted this under my other Dorothy Lyman post, but I didn't get any replies, so I am putting on here again as a new thread.

As usual, I was watching Golden Girls at 10 and 10:30 on the 10th and The Nanny came on afterwards at 11 and 11:30 and in the first episode Mr. Sheffield 's daughter, Maggie is going to be a debutante with a little persuading from Fran. Fran decides to throw Maggie a party and invite all of the girls from the group or whatever. Mr. Sheffield and Niles taught Fran how to act, dress, and talk conservatively so she could attend Maggie's party.
Fran came down to the party dressed in a black suit with her hair in a bun and was talking without her trademark squeaky voice and she was talking to one of the women there who was like a Contessa or something and and it was Dorothy Lyman!
Later on after Maggie told Fran that the party was really boring and that none of her friends were having a good time, Fran decides to change clohtes, take her hair down, and talk in her regular squeaky voice. She comes back to the party like this and begins talking to Dorothy Lyman's character again.
I almost didn't recognize her at first, but then I saw her smile and heard her voice then I knew it was her. I couldn't believe it. Her hair was short and curly, and she was covered up. She was wearing a blue suit. Her voice and smile were the same but that's pretty much it.
Her character was nice, but rich and was eating the appetizers and commenting how good they were while she and Fran were talking. She didn't look much different, but she still looked pretty.
The episode that aired after that one was one that she directed.
She also directed two more that aired on the 11th.
It was so cool to see her. I can't wait to see her on more episodes. She is so cool and talented that she can direct and play different characters on other shows.

She played on alot of this why you still associating her with Momma's family still? Why not say her soap opera's character was on the Nanny or go post on the soap opera message board that she palyed on and say you saw Dorthy Lyman on the Nanny.

Can never understand why people associate certain people with a certain character even though they played other characters and on other shows.

For example on the Family Matters message board someone wrote Reginald and Mary Jo who were husband and wife on family matters will play on Falling angel as priest and wife.

You people Still associate Betty White as Ellen Jackson from Momma's family even though she played as Rose on Golden Girls and she played on tons of other shows.

Why come here and tell everyone that Dorthy Lyman was on the Nanny? Just because she also played on Momma's family doesn't mean you have to post her as playing on another show.

Be like saying Ken Berry played on golden girls once and post it here and not under FTroop.

Angry Just bite my head off why don't you!

I put it on here because this is a Mama's Family site and she was on Mama's Family and she didn't do any other sitcoms except as a guest star. Ken Berry was on FTroop before Mama's Family. We put them on here because they were on this show and they went on to do other shows. Where do you want me to post this information. Dorothy Lyman doesn't have her own message board and a lot of people might not remember her being on a soap opera before Mama's Family. I put it on here because I thought people who were fans of her character Naomi would be interested. Excuse me for posting this. So sue me.

TAKE A CHILL PILL (with some tequila and lime) No need to be so LOUD (LOL)
it's okay for people to associate someone with a character if that's the only place they recognize them. God, it's not the end of the world.
It's a forum. Enjoy or don't read. I like the info. I didn't know Dorothy was on The Nanny. Did you know she played on All My Children? She was the original OPAL GARDENER. Probably so, just a little info for those who didn't know. Don't bite anyone's head off!!!

It's not a problem.

I do need to talk to Eric777 about bumping up old threads, though...one or two is okay but there are 10-15 old threads he has bumped up and that can cause mass confusion, as such here.

Welcome to the MF board, by the way. I'm one of the co-mods for this board.

Dorothy Lyman was a director on "The Nanny". I worked at the Culver Studios in Culver City, California when they were filming "The Nanny". Dorothy Lyman had this long hair that was white. She looked much older than her days on "Mama's Family".
