Default How About Deleting All Posts That Are Not Related To The Topic!

Okay. I'm seeing WAY too many posts that have absolutely nothing to do with the original topic- this includes those useless posts. These are extremely annoying. My suggestion is have them all deleted. This should stop any fights, and put an end to all the bickering.

How does everybody think about this?

I agree, nothing more annoying than people posting stuff not related to the original topic.

That would be pretty near darn impossible to do. Delete EVERY useless post? That would delete like 75% of the topics on here.
I think you would be asking too much of myself and Janice (and all other moderators) to monitor the boards that closely.

While I enjoy the boards, I don't have hours and hours of time to devote to them on a daily basis. I like doing other stuff.

We really need some self-moderation here. Moderators can't do it all you know.

I thought taking away the post counts would lessen the amount of useless posts, but it appears to have just the opposite effect.

We've really reached the point where the major troublemakers are just going to be banned outright. Enough is enough already.

That would be impossible, that would mean we'd have to delete every single one of EricIdleFan's posts, lol.

You make a good point about not being able to monitor every single thread, but there are certain people who just pop in and randomly and obliviously post useless junk. After awhile, I can understand that getting a little agitating. I politely asked one of these individuals (Ericidlefan)why she was doing that and she attacked me verbally, including pming me multiple times.

Yea, I try to be civil with her and point out what she should and shouldn't do, but all I ever get are insults about where I'm from and PMs.

But I aslo think that the posts mocking her () are getting extremely annoying as well. There's been one person in particular (Not naming any names) who, in almost every topic where Eric is brought up, post it. We get the point, you're Eric. You don't need to prove your point 6379853409 times.

What if we just added people to our ignore list (user cp) so you don't have to read any of their posts? I think most of you would have done that already if you are truly annoyed by somebody's posts. Just don't read them, plain and simple. It's your choice.

Seriously, I don't mind some off topic posts in that likening a discussion board to an actual verbal discussion, people can pick up a point in a conversation, relate it to something else (a different but similar situation) and have the topic of disussion go another route. I think there'd be twice as many useless threads if some of the ones we already have didn't stray slightly off topic once in a while. But I agree, EIF's type of off topic posts are an extreme that can be pretty irritating. By the way, no I haven't seen Tripping the Rift.

Well I'm seeing too many threads being locked up, when they really don't have to be. The last thing I want to see when I start a legitimate topic thread, is seeing it locked up an hour later due to some silly fight. Ignore lists are a good idea, but they are still not solving the problem. There has to be a better way rather than locking up a decent topic thread all the time.
