Talking SFD (Sweet Freddie Dreams)

OMG it is 3:30 in the morning and my eyes are barely open enough to see to type, but I just woke up from the most WONDERFUL dream (and a touch of heartburn, so I can't lay back down for a bit). Since I have to sit up, I needed to come up to my computer room and tell you all about it.

First a little background.... I supposed it is well known that Mariposa and I chat on the IM every day as we are able. One of the things we sign off with to each other every night is SFD meaning Sweet Freddie Dreams.... something that is more of a hope for us than a reality... but tonight was one of those rare nights when it came true!

Second background piece to help you understand part of this dream.... once a month (which was last night) one of the young male teachers at our school sings and plays guitar at a local bar and grill. Several of the teachers and parents from our school go to hear him play and sing and generally have a good time. The food is good too (hense the heartburn I suppose ) So with those two pieces of background, let me tell you my dream....

It started out that I was at a live personal appearance where several of the stars of 70's shows were on a panel answering questions. Freddie was there with some sort of a manager. I honestly didn't recognize the others on the panel, I guess cause I only had eyes for Freddie.... I know I was sitting close to the front, cause I had my hand in the air and he called on me a couple of times... I do remember I asked him one question, if he still played his guitar and sang. He told me he didn't have as much time to do so as he would like... I think he was working on another show when this was taking place. It was present day and he was as old as he would be now, and I was my present age too, but he didn't look much older than we remember him (you know how dreams are!)

Well the panel discussion was over and his manager was trying to get him to go somewhere else, but he decided he needed to get away for a while, so he came up to me (I was just hanging around with a picture, hoping he would autograph it for me) and asked if there was any good place just to hang out and hide out for awhile. I told him of the place where my friend Tony plays, but it was open mike night there. He said it sounded great, let's go. So we did.

When we got to the bar, all my friends from school were there, as well as my hubby. I introduced Freddie to the crowd, who were very nice to him. They were embarassing me some, telling him how I had this THING for him (they all know me TOO well, gang! LOL) Anyhow, the mike was open, and I had my guitar with me. Seems in this dream, I regularly came and sang and played on open mike night. I don't remember what song I sang, but everyone liked it, including Freddie. I am a little hazy, but I think he got up and sang and played too, to much applause. Then we sat around again and talked for several hours with all my friends.

When it was time to go, it was like 2 in the morning and the bar was closing.... but we didn't want to go.... I had to go outside to get a bit of fresh air, and then I went back in to get my guitar. My husband and some of my friends were still sitting around a table chatting when I went into the back area... a sort of hallway where the regular entertainment gathers ... to get my guitar. Freddie was back there waiting for me. I told him what a great time I had with him that night, and thanked him for hanging out with me and my friends. He told me that I had a lot of talent with the singing and playing and thanked me for asking him, he was glad to get away from the "famous" routine for awhile. I said to him that his presence tonight was enjoyed by all my friends, but especially by me, cause I really had this thing for him for a long time... a fact that my friends would good-naturedly tease me about, including my husband. He smiled a really big smile and said "Really?" and laughed a little. I blushed and said, "Yeah, I even have a room with all these pictures of you on a wall in it." He looked pleasantly surprised, and then I remembered the picture I had brought with me that night for him to sign. I showed him the picture and he realized I was telling him the truth. He told me since I was such a big fan, he would have to do something special for me. He got a red marker and tried to make a set of lips on the poster under his picture and then signed something in Spanish, I can't remember what it was, something short and sweet tho. Then he signed his name. He kissed the poster where he had drawn the lips and then gave it to me with a LONG HUG (no kiss I am afraid... I think he was afraid my hubby would walk back at any moment to look for me) He told me to be careful of how I handled the poster till the ink dried, and even suggested how I could preserve it so it wouldn't smear. I remember going out to the main bar area to the table where everyone was still chatting. I showed them the poster and they were suggesting some ways for me to preserve it. Hubby didn't seem jealous, cause he knew how much I liked Freddie. Freddie said goodnight to everyone and we all left to go home. The only thing my hubby said was what a nice guy Freddie was and did I notice what he had written on his t shirt. It was unusual, to be sure... kind of an off color, light orange color with big lime green letters (yes it did look kinda weird, but I didn't seem to notice that it was) I had noticed what it said, but unfortunately it isn't fit to post here...

I know I am being a bit of a tease about that, but if I post it here, I could get in a LOT of hot water. If you want to know, I guess you could email me and I could tell you. I will hint that it was about a former person in his life and it wasn't too kind of that person.....I am NOT sure why he was wearing that T shirt in my dream BTW.... you know how dreams are.

I woke up feeling his warm hug... it was a big ole bear kind of hug, the kind that stays with you a long time... if only he was brave enough to risk a kiss too! At least I got the hug and the chance to tell him how I felt about him.... it was a simply WONDERFUL dream!

Well it is 4:15 and I really should try to get some more sleep before I have to get up to go to school today... tee hee, maybe I will have more dreams!

I had a dream about Freddie Wed nite too! I think it was Luckymamas fault (ha-ha lol) cuz I had fallen asleep in the lazyboy chair & got up at an odd hour. I decided to get on the internet & check things out. I read Luckymamas post before going to bed. Went to bed & dreamed.

In the beginning of the dream we went to visit some relatives of Mikes who lived in the hillbilly area of Ky he is from. Won't bore ya with details there (which involved me seeing lots of bugs there & getting bugs in my hair--yuck) but after we visited them, staying a few days with them, we went to this big garage in the hillbilly area of KY Mike is from. On the walls of it were a few paintings of Freddie & I commented to Mike how cute they were. I saw from a distance these 2 evik con artist men & they were talking saying they had planned to kill off Freddie in the 70's & were glad he killed himself. One of the men said to the other one that no Freddie was not dead, he was alive & had been for yrs keeping in hiding. I was so happy to hear that & couldn't wait to tell you guys! Then the guy said to the other one that they needed to bump off & kill Freddie since he had never died. They both began plotting how to bump him off. I got really worried about Freddie & wondered how in the world I could get ahold of him & find him to warn him the 2 guys were gonna kill him. The guys never saw me. I did take a couple of the Freddie paintings home with me but I have no idea what else happened or how it ended. Not as exciting as Luckymama's dream but at least I dreamed about him...

You can e-mail me too...

I dreamed about Freddie last nite! In the dream I was in my car at a stop light & a truck pulled up next to me. In it was a guy who looked kinda like Freddie but his hair was longer. I thought to myself that I needed to get on here & tell you guys about it. I told Mike look at that guy, he kinda looks like Freddie. Then the guy actually became Freddie! I woke up after that tho. Oh well...

Good luck with having some Freddie dreams! I had figured that maybe the usa in your name meant that you were from the USA. It's interesting where people get their computer names from...

I usually don't have dreams like this, that I can actually still remember vividly but it was kinda hinting me in the sense that I believe Freddie Jr is or has been aware of the websites honoring his father.... What I can recall in my dream is that somehow Freddie Jr appears at a gathering on behalf of TWC (Time Warner Cable) Freddie Jr is there representing Freddie Sr for an achievement award for Freddie's ground breaking roles on Chico and the Man and comedy highlighting the Latino comunity. Well anyways somehow Freddie Jr approaches me and Luckymama and tells us that he has been on the Internet and is amazed over the response of his father with all the websites. He is like in tears and is embracing me and Luckymama out of compassion over the love we still have for his father.

I had a dream about Freddie last nite. It was a bad one. In it I was watching CATM & it was a Raul episode & I got upset cuz Freddie was dead & not in it. I started screaming & crying hysterically asking why was Freddie dead & why couldn't he be alive & in the episode. It was kinda upsetting...

That is an upsetting dream. I wonder what lead you to have it. Had you recently watched a CATM episode with Raul in it, and felt sad because Freddie wasn't in it?

I think dreams are so interesting because it is so interesting to see hwo your subconscience works and what it is working on. You must have been working through some grieving in your life, whether it was about Freddie or something as painful as Freddie not being in the episodes with Raul in it.

I'm sorry you had such a sad and upsetting dream.

Hugs,

Sandra
