I've watched about 10 episodes so far, of the 32 episodes on the Season 1 DVD...
One thing I've noticed is that Eva Gabor seemed to be having an absolute ball making this series... There are so many scenes in which she can hardly keep from laughing...it cracks me up just looking at her having such a great time... And wow...what a beautiful lady she was. This show is great! Can't wait for season 2 to be out!! |

you sound like you're seeing it for the first time!
Yes, it is a great series, I've liked it ever since it first aired on CBS in the 60s. |

Circa 1967, Wednesday night was my favorite night of TV in the late 60s... 7:30 Lost In Space 8:30 The Beverly Hillbillies 9:30 Green Acres CBS was a good network in those days...I probably didn't watch Green Acres from the very beginning, as I was only about 5 when the series debuted...but I loved it at the time...Arnold was so cool... The only time I've seen Green Acres since the 70s was when TV Land and Nick and Night have run them during the past 10 years or so... So I'm definitely not seeing the show for the first time...but watching the episodes on DVD now, I notice a lot of little things I've long since forgotten about... Can't wait for season 2 |

Eva Gabor was a wonderful, beautiful and legendary actress. It has bothered me for years that her mother, Jolie Gabor, favored Zsa Zsa over Eva and Magda. I like Zsa Zsa equally, it's just that parents should love all of their children the same.

Eva Gabor was not only my very favorite performer on Green Acres, she was my very favorite actress and the idol of my youth. I didn't start watching Green Acres on a regular basis until April, 1966, starting with the Molly Turgis episode, and I was just simply captured by her beauty, her style, class, and glamour. I was in the third grade when Green Acres first debuted on CBS.
I have even collected pictures of Eva Gabor from the time that she was doing the show up to when she was going out with Merv Griffin. Of all the pictures that I have of Eva Gabor, 2 of them are my personal favorites, which were taken when she was doing Green Acres. Although these are black and white pictures, she was photographed wearing this beautiful, but very sexy, light-colored print strapless gown, a medium-sized choker necklace, tiny droop earrings, and a beautiful satin stole, which was wrapped around her, just below her bare shoulders. Her beautiful blonde hair was just so perfectly styled and she had the most beautiful and sexiest smile that you could ever imagine. She was definitely one of the most beautiful and glamorous women in all of Hollywood, and boy oh boy, did she just glimmer and shine. These 2 pictures appeared in the August, 1967 issue of TV RADIO MIRROR (in which she was photographed standing next to her husband at the time, Richard Brown, who was a Vice President for Filmways; the company that produced Green Acres) and in the April, 1970 issue of PHOTOPLAY (in which Mr. Blackwell named her as one of the Ten Best Dressed Women of 1969. This may sound crazy, but I look at these 2 pictures every time I listen to music, especially the Motown artists (Diana Ross and the Supremes, the Four Tops, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, etc.). And now that Green Acres is back on TV Land, I'm once again taping my favorite episodes of the show and combining them with these pop/rock music infomercials, documentaries, and specials; just like I did the last time it was on TV Land. Eva Gabor's death in 1995 really affected me. In fact, the last time that Green Acres was on TV Land, I was crying on and off because I couldn't accept the fact that Eva Gabor was dead. I felt as though she was still alive, but now thanks to the miracle of television, the work that she did lives on. To me, EVA GABOR STILL LIVES!!!! |

I read somewhere that Eva appeared on a talk show in the 70's with Arnold who had a 'accident' on her lap, Eva and the host and audience went into laughter for several minutes

I just started watching Green Acres during TV Land's marathon last weekend, and after a very short period of time, I just became completely enamored with Lisa(Eva).
Listening to her contorted conversations with the various residents of Hooterville, I couldn't help but laugh. I'm 31, and all these years I've known about Green Acres and its famous theme song, but I'd never sat down and actually watched it until last weekend. I'm so glad I did. |

Actually I never really knew Eva Gabor that well she died when I was only two, and I'm guessing that by telling you that that I've only been watching Green Acres for a couple of years.
