Well DISH Network is cutting a few channels run by Viacom including Nick @ Nite. Their reason id that they don't want customers to have to pay more because Viacom raised their rates. When in reality they would only have to pay an extra $0.06 more per customer. So if you have DISH Network and you watch Roseanne on Nick @ Nite say: Bye, Bye Roseanne!

Damn! Maybe I can get my dad to consider another satellite thing, but we have had DISH for 6 years now!

Say bye-bye to Dish Network.
![]() That sound you hear is subscribers switching to DirecTV or Cable.

This whole situation is asinine. I think pretty much all viacom channels are getting the boot...
Nickelodeon/Nick @ Nite TV Land Comedy Central CBS and UPN (2 major networks!) Spike TV MTV VH1 and maybe a few others... I'm not a Dish Network subscriber (thank GOD) but I'm still pretty fumed about this. If I was a customer of theirs, I would drop their service so fast, they wouldn't know what hit 'em. As a TV lover, I feel great sympathy for Dish Network subscribers, and hope they all cancel their service in protest of this ridiculous decision. I mean, those channels up above are some of the most popular on cable, not to mention that CBS and UPN are major television networks for cryin' out loud! Dogma, tell your dad to get Direct TV or digital cable. UPDATE: I just read that Dish Network and Viacom have remedied the situation, so the channels listed above should remain a part of the Dish Network lineup. Crisis averted! |
