I sent her an Self Magazine Article for her to sign.

Well, it all depends. Someone on Stararchive.com sent Nancy a US Weekly magaZINE to get signed. She didn't get back her magazine signed (if not at all), but DID get an authentically signed photo in gold pen.<---this is great, since most people get a preprint postcard.

As well, another person sent her some index cards and she signed them.

The situation with Studio Fan Mail (or any other fanmail service) is that they get TONS of letters from fans everyday. Therefore the secretary has to be selective as to which ones to actually pass on to Nancy (or any of the other stars). Otherwise, handing Nancy 2 duffle-bags of fanmail every week gets pretty ridiculous, since she is busy and DOES have a life outside being a TV star.

I'm not sure what criteria the secretary chooses upon, however ALL Nancy's fan letters get read by the secretary before getting to her. Therefore you should do your best to let them know that you're a true and honest fan, otherwise they might think you're some guy who wants an autographed photo to sell on Ebay.

As long as you made it clear that you're a true fan and did your best to let them know (without over-flattery), I think you should have no problems getting your article signed.

well, pretty much everything I did is written on that webpage above.

For Nancy, send the following:

1. nice letter letting her know how much I appreciate her talent in various projects.

2. YOUR OWN photo(s) of her.

3. a 9x12 SASE

4. a protective piece of 9x12 cardboard (to protect the photos)

5. put the letter and photos in the 9x12 SASE

6. put the SASE inside a larger envelope and send it to her. MAKE SURE that you write "PHOTOGRAPHS INSIDE. DO NOT FOLD." in very large print on both envelopes.

7. wait and be patient as some people have rec'd replies from Nancy 6 months later.

Lisa's procedures would be the same, but you SHOULD include 5$ for her autographed photo, even if you're sending your own.

The only other advice I can give is that you're honest in your letters and make it clear to the star how much you appreciate his/her talent WITHOUT sucking up.

Be a lot more intellectual than "Lisa, you're so fine! You're the best! You rock!".

For Nancy, it's ok to mention "Jo" in your letter, but do let her know that you appreciate her in her other roles on tv and film. (note:this is just MY advice)

I sent to both Lisa and Nancy on June 14th. Lisa took 2 and 1/2 weeks. Nancy took almost a month and 1/2.

Note: Lisa Whelchel is gone for a good part of the year on her road trip. Therefore the only real way to get her autograph is a)ordering off her website b)in person or c)waiting for a very long time.
At least I would assume so.

Of course,I'm NO EXPERT at this. My word isn't law. However, that's what I know from experience of writing to stars.

u put the pics in the SASE- I didn't I put them in the envelope and folded the SASE- b/c it was the same size as the 8 x 10 envelope.
