I've been hearing lately that Van Halen might reteam with Sammy Hagar to record another album. Does anyone know if this is true? I really I hope it is (actually I'd rather them reteam w/ David Lee Roth, but I really don't see that happening anytime soon.) That would be cool though to see them get back with Sammy! So does anyone know?

I'm not sure if it is true, but I am hearing alot about it over the radio by Uncle Joe Benson, and he is usually a reliable source. I think that is why Sammy gave up the Planet Us project that both he and Michael Anthony were a party of. So anything is possible. I agree I would love to see Roth back with the Van Halen brothers, but any new Van Halen is better than none. Right now everything is just rumor.

never cared much for Van Hagar. I preferred the original. 5150 and OU812 were no different than the average "corporate rock" album of the mid-80's, tho they did get a lot better with For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge

You have to admit Van Hagar was much better than Van Cherone.

Which begs the question, when are we going to see a Best Of, Volume 2 fergawshsakes? There are a lot of songs missing off the first compilation! The tracklisting could be something like this: 1. You Really Got Me 2. Jamie's Cryin' 3. Beautiful Girls 4. So This Is Love? 5. Oh, Pretty Woman 6. Dancing In The Street 7. Secrets 8. I'll Wait 9. Hot For Teacher 10. Love Walks In 11. Best Of Both Worlds 12. Black And Blue 13. Finish What Ya Started 14. Runaround 15. Top Of The World 16. Amsterdam 17. (Don't Tell Me) What Love Can Do 18. Not Enough 19. Fire In The Hole 20. Without You I know Warner Bros. is now the band's ex-label. I'm not sure, however, if they control the catalog or if Van Halen has a say in what is and isn't released. |

UPDATE FROM BRAVEWORDS TODAY:
VAN HALEN - William Morris Agency Booking North American Arenas [Rock Hard - 04.03.16 11:33:44] Pollstar (www.pollstar.com) has issued the following VAN HALEN tour rumor update: The tour rumor mill is overflowing. A VAN HALEN reunion with SAMMY HAGAR is viewed as a virtual certainty. The Van Halen rumors got rolling last fall when the band signed with Irving Azoff, longtime manager of Hagar, the EAGLES, JOURNEY and others. Around the same time, Hagar announced that he was once again on speaking terms with Alex and Eddie Van Halen. He and the brothers hadn't spoken since parting ways in 1996 after an argument. The William Morris Agency is reportedly booking North American arenas for a Van Halen excursion this summer. The group's last outing was in 1998, with former EXTREME singer Gary Cherone handling vocal duties. Their last tour with Hagar wrapped in late 1995; the eight-month outing sold well over a million tickets, grossing more than $32 million. |

I hope the guys make the announcement soon, because I'm not sure I can take much more suspense. I've been waiting since 1996 for Sammy to return.

Van Halen Roll With Sammy Hagar back at the mike after eight years By Marc W. Dolech Rolling Stones It's official: Sammy Hagar is again the singer for Van Halen . . . at least for the band's upcoming summer tour. Van Halen announced twenty-eight North American dates, their first since singer Gary Cherone split in 1999 and their first with Hagar in almost a decade. The band will release a greatest hits album in June featuring the aptly titled new single "It's About Time," featuring Hagar. Hagar replaced original singer David Lee Roth in 1985 and fronted the band through 1996, when he and guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen and bassist Michael Anthony began a public squabble over whether Hagar quit or was fired. Hagar also waged press battles with Roth, who has also been recently flirting with returning to Van Halen, but the two buried the hatchet and toured together in 2002. Eddie Van Halen was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2001, but announced his complete recovery the following year. He has been working on songs for the follow-up to 1998's Van Halen III. Van Halen tour dates: 6/11: Greensboro, NC, Greensboro Coliseum 6/13: Hershey, PA, Hershey Park Stadium 6/16: Philadelphia, Wachovia Center 6/19: Worcester, MA, Worcester Centrum 6/22: East Rutherford, NJ, Continental Arena 6/25: Hartford, CT, Hartford Civic Center 6/26: Albany, NY, Pepsi Center 6/28: Washington, DC, MCI Center 7/1: Pittsburgh, Mellon Arena 7/2: Cleveland, Gund Arena 7/3: Toronto, Air Canada Center 7/6: Columbus, OH, Schottenstein Center 7/7: Indianapolis, IN, Conseco Fieldhouse 7/10: Detroit, Joe Louis Arena 7/11: Auburn Hills, MI, The Palace at Auburn Hills 7/19: Chicago, TBD 7/22: St. Paul, MN, Xcel Energy Center 7/26: Kansas City, MO, Kemper Arena 7/28: St. Louis, MO, Savvis Center 7/31: Omaha, NE, Qwest Center 8/1: Denver, Pepsi Center 8/5: Phoenix, America West Arena 8/7: Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay Events Center 8/10: San Jose, CA, HP Pavilion 8/11: Sacramento, CA, ARCO Arena 8/13: Oakland, CA, Oakland Arena 8/14: Fresno, CA, Save Mart Arena 8/19: Los Angeles, Staples Center (March 26, 2004) Sammy Hagar posted this on his website: Sorry I couldn’t keep everyone up to speed on the VH stuff but until it was final we all swore to secrecy. So lay off my webmaster!! First of all, the Wabos are great! They will be on pay through all this and everything is upfront with them. They might be doing gigs in Tahoe at the Wabo with other artists this year and writing new songs at our new studio (Red Rocker Recording). We’re gonna have a blast at the opening of the Tahoe Wabo and the Tequila bash in Atlantic City. Then I’m off to VH rehearsals. I’m totally excited about the tour. The music's a w e s o m e! “It’s About Time” 1st track, Yikessssssss!! See ya at the b-bash in October! Love ya, Sammy The picture below was posted at the official Van Halen website: |
