Which dance movie did you like since ironically both films were produced by the same movie studio Paramount Pictures?? I like Flashdance about a young woman who wanted to get out of the part-time strip business/construction worker and wanted to dance for the ballet since it had more of the dancing and moves despite Jennifer Beals not dancing
Footloose had great acting, great plot, great scripts, and much of a better soundtrack though I liked Flashdance's soundtrack as well!! But it was about a city boy(Kevin Bacon who became a star much less to his chargin) who goes into a small-town that has banned dancing, drinking, drugs, and music due to an incident involving the preacher(John Lithgow)who had conceived the ban and the boy's fight along with the other teens' fight to their right to dance!! |

Ive seen some of Flashdance, but wasn't that interested. I'll rent it out sumtime and watch it all. But Footloose isn't a bad film, it's got a great soundtrack, and lithgow is great in it as the villain. Is the new Footloose film still being made?

Flasdance. Everytime I hear the song "What A Feeling, I think about this movie and want to dance. I also think about Irene Cara and her singinng this song so expressively.

Was never interested for 'Footlose'. I'm a Flashdance type of gal even though the movie wasn't the greatest and the guy was ugly! LOL..Have anyone seen the video JLO made out of the audition part song from the movie?

Flashdance is a classic! Though the screenplay could have been much better as with just about every film produced by the team of Simpson and Bruckheimer, a talented director, some great songs like "Flashdance...What a Feeling", "Mainiac", "I'll Be Where the Heart is" and of course the beautiful Jennifer Beals all combined in making the film one of the best of the eighties. Flashdance is a movie that along with Scarface and The Breakfast Club defined eighties pop culture.
Footlose I can do without. I have never liked Kevin Bacon, I've never liked the music from the movie that I've heard on the radio (the theme song by Kenny Loggins I consider one of the most annoying songs ever!), and honestly, as I guy, I just don't really like to see other guys dancing. The exception would be John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, a great film! Anyone see Save The Last Dance? It was sort of a hip hop version of Flashdance released in 2001 with Julia Stiles starring. A really good movie. Coyote Ugly was good too.

I've seen Save the Last Dance but didn't like it at all.
One thing good about Flashdance is Irene Cara's singing- she was great in Fame as well. |

I prefer Flashdance, the movie. But BOTH soundtracks rule
just take a look back at memory lane at the soundtracks (I don't really like the theme song to Footloose tho) Flashdance: What A Feelin' - Irene Cara Maniac - Michael Sembello Romeo - Donna Summer He's A Dream - Shandi Footloose: Let's Hear It For The Boy - Deniece Williams Holding Out For A Hero - Bonnie Tyler Almost Paradise - Ann Wilson and the guy from Loverboy I'm Free (Heaven Helps The Man) - Kenny Loggins both soundtracks are awesome capsules of the 80's like Saturday Night Fever was to the 1970's |

I have the Flashdance soundtrack. Needed to do my aerobics the other day but had problems with the VCR so stuck Flashdance on instead. I felt an idiot having to make my own excercises up, prancing around the room
but you know, what ever gets the heart rate up and burns those calories
