Default Wallys Lawsuit

I think Tony Dow has every reason to be mad at TV Land. Bet he doesn't show up at the awards this year!

I am a little lost about this. Why would he be mad at TV Land? I'd like to know. I feel that if they did something, he has every right to be mad!

TV Land aired a short ad, supposed to be showing "this is not your dad's tvland" with a picture of "Wally" with tatoos.

Tony Dow was very upset with the image this reflected toward him and his character he played in the series.

He filed suit, and tvland removed the ad.

I think the main thing that upset him was that tvland did not contact him about this, before they aired it.

Thanks! I felt a little out of the loop because I didn't know what happened. I have heard this before, though

I am a very non-tattoo person, and I feel Tony has every right to be mad with TV Land!

From what I have heard, everyone kissed and made up.

Tony really was not going after the money, he earns a good living as it is. But, what he wanted is to have the ad stopped, and that is what happened.

I only saw that ad a very few times, and didn't even think of starting the vcr, probably best that I didn't ....would hate to get sued by Wally Cleaver!

Tony not only was AT the TVLand Awards, but he was even on stage with Jerry Mathers...not sure if they were presenting or what, but there are photos at wireimage.com. Just type in "Tony Dow" or "Jerry Mathers".

I can't wait to see these awards on March 17th! I just saw a clip on E! and they showed Jerry and Tony on the red carpet.

Well, I'm glad to here everything is alright. Someone here posted that they met Jerry Mathers and Tony Dow, and that they were very nice people! My friend's mother, now in her fifties, was Jerry Mathers' girlfriend in the summer of 1970 (or maybe 1971?)!

I'm so glad to hear that they are going to be at the awards show! I've been concerned that the lawsuit might keep Tony away and we'd never get to see him!!! Whew!!!!!!!!
