I like that they are doing it this way. Far better than having all those epiosdes ridiculously crammed.

And I'm so happy they are including the Malibu Sands and other out-of-school eps (All In The Mall, Palm Springs, Mystery Weekend etc). That's cool, I thought for ages they'd cut those episodes.

Yeah, I didn't like the idea of it at first...but it makes more sense and eventually will build a greater collection

But a 5th season box set is kind of odd with the others having 2 seasons each....?? I wonder if they'll include anything with this box set. They could put the Hawaiian Style movie with the 5th box set then create a College Years box set and include the Wedding with it.

Yeah with the season 5 set they should include the Hawaiian Style movie. Then do a set for College Years with Wedding In Vegas included. That would be great. I'd also like to see the whole series of Good Morning, Miss Bliss released on DVD. I've never gotten the chance to see any of the Miss Bliss episode...would be nice too.

I think they're ok...definitely a lot different. I'm sure if I never saw the episodes I'd go crazy. Have you seen any of the college years episodes? I know a lot of people outside of the US haven't seen those episodes....

Yeah I've seen all of the College Years. Nick UK aired them over and over and over (and over!) so I've seen each one like, a million times. I liked the series. Not as good as SBTB but still very enjoyable. I did miss Jessie and Lisa but Leslie and Alex were really good replacements. Alex was a hoot, I thought she was great and made a cute couple with Slater.

Interesting... but I think we are going to end up being disappointed (again) with this DVD set, I HIGHLY doubt we are going to get any commentaries.

Yeah...I'm not going to get my hopes up when it comes to the commentaries although there was this guy I talked to on AIM (he also sent Erika an email) and he works at this night club that Dustin performed his stand-up act at and Dustin said that he was going in to do some recording for commentaries. I believe him, but a part of me just won't REALLY believe it until I see it...you know?

Here is the email he sent Erika...I don't think he'd mind me posting it here...but I guess he did ask Erika to be anonymous so I won't give out his identity either.

Hey I just wanted to email you some interesting tidbits that I have picked up on Dustin the last few days as I work at a comedy club that he is currently performing at. First he is drawing record number crowds and we have had some very big names but none have drawn like Screech. After the shows he sells 8x10s, old scripts from the show or you can take a polaroid with him and he will sign that, I'm ging to be having him sign my seasons 1 and 2 DVD. When talking of the DVDs he said that seasons 3, 4 & 5 were all coming out together(he must be msitaken but atleast 5 is definately on the way). He said that he had to go in and film commentary for the seasons so seasons 3 & 4 should have extra features, atleast commentary from the cast now. He said his commentary should be rather amusing. Hes a VERY nice guy, after his first night at the club he came around and introducced himself to EVERYONE that works there. I had the task of driving him to the hotel that night, and picking him up again on Friday. Hes very cool and we spent the car ride talking about everything from girls, his band, his goals, how he got into comedy and even some Saved By The Bell. When he was hanging out with all the employees he was asked about the College Years and somebody mentioned the new class to which he replied " We dont talk about that", he was asked why ahd honestly stated "becuse they sucked". He has also said that the only member of the cast that he talks to now is Dennis(Mr. Belding). Thats really all I can think of for now, hes @ the club for the next 2 days still so I may have more. I just thought it interesting that he still had old scripts hes selling and that They will have commentary on the upcoming seasons from the cast and other seasons should be released. I'm going to try to ask him next time about the summer at the beach, the las vegas wedding and other things will be put onto dvd.

I imagine the E-True Hollywood Story, as well as Dustin and Dennis can attest that SBTB fans are in abundance! I wonder if the sales of the first DVD set speaks the same truth. If so, its so obvious that EVERY episode (incl. Miss Bliss, college years, and the two movies) need to be released. Bookended, it could be:

Miss Bliss (Double DVD, standard case)
SBTB 1&2 (multi DVD set)
SBTB 3&4 (& 5?) (multi DVD set)
College Years (Double DVD, standard case)
Hawaiin Style Movie (Single DVD, standard case)
Wedding in Vegas (Single DVD, standard case)

Its not rocket science that we want it all! (And New Class takers? lol - maybe for completists.)

Does anyone know how we can find out how sales were on the first set? That usually influences further releases.

Me. It seems like the New Class gets no love. I'd take New Class over the College Years any day.

You know, I asked my contact at Lions Gate about this, but at that time, he said that the numbers weren't in yet. He said he would let me know when it was in....and you can guess what really happened. LOL

Anyways, the fan that sent that letter in to me, as far as I know, I have no reason not to believe him. I spoke to him through AIM, as well, and he was a descent fan with nothing mean to say about Dustin or anything. He works in the comedy club Dustin was performing at and had to drive him to and from his hotel to the club. He got his DVD signed by Dustin. And had a friendly conversation with him.

I wasn't at all skeptical about it and I usually am.

I also have contact with Dennis Haskins' brother through e-mails and AIM. He visited the site about 2 years ago now for the first time and was really nice and sent me an e-mail complimenting and thanking me for my continued support of the show and his brother. He occasionally sends me information about what Dennis is doing. Actually, he's my source for Dennis all the time. I recently asked him to ask Dennis about the DVD and the speculation about the commentaries. I am still waiting for his response. He's actually very nice about this and is reliable, so hopefully I speak to him soon again.
