Once upon a time, many years ago, I was registered on a video gaming message board that had 75,000+ members...that was between the time it opened in late 1998 to the time of its closing in mid-2001.

Of course, a lot of them were multiple usernames.... Myself, I think I had maybe three usernames there, the main one that I registered in September 1999.

Seriously, tho, I think it's cool.

GSN (Ex-Game SHow Network)'s message board is tied into the main website's User Account system. As a result, as of 06-Mar-2004, at 9:45 PM CT, they have 2,008,711 registered users for the messageboard. Yet, they have FAR fewer posts, threads, etc., as a LOT of those users are registered for the iTV Games..

This is the biggest member number of any board I visit regularly, I know that.

And 75% of the people that do post on the boards post like 4 times and leave.

I don't know if the name I had on there before they overhauled the board is still on there or not. And I have no idea what it even was.

I posted there, someone pissed me off, I left, and when I came back, the boards had changed.

Actually there, it's more likely spammers. I have gotten SO MANY PMs from people there with no posts, who simply PM you to say, "Hi." Or something else obnoxious.

Considering the numbers, that is pathetic. Especially if you consider the amount of "What's your favorite game show?" threads.

*edit* So in about an hour, 219 people have registered. Geez...

What makes me laugh is that, there are so many people who are registering, and then posting to the boards, to complain about the *Exact* same things that *WE* (The GS viewers who are supposedly out of touch with the viewing public) have been b****ing about for years.

And they still don't listen. Of course, all things considered, I'm not completely surprised.

You know what annoys me most? People who register on message boards and only post a few message than leave and never come back. Why register in the first place? And then if you want to find a certain member you have to go through the long member list which is full of usernames that are never used to post under. And then there will be people who register and never post at all! Craziness.

Ohhhh YES. And what makes it even worse is the search for a specific member is turned off, so I can't just go in and search for a specific member...I have to browse through hundreds of pages til I find that member.
