Does anyone remember the Bay City Blues? It aired in 1983. I believe there were only eight episodes televised. It was about a minor league baseball team called the Bay City Blue Birds. It was a Stephen Bochco series with what would now be considered an all star cast: Michael Nouri (Flashdance) as the manager, Dennis Franz (NYPD Blue, Hill Street Blues) as one of the coaches, Ken Olin (Hill Street Blues, Thirty Something) as Rocky (one of the players, Michelle Green (LA Law) as a player's wife, and Mykel T. Williamson (The New WKRP, Midnight Caller, Forest Gump) as Deejay (one of the players).
I really enjoyed the series, but then again I am a big fan of minor league baseball and this series aired before the minors enjoyed a rebirth. |
