Elizabeth Berkely in "Showgirls" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Okay for the record I like Elizabeth B. and thought she was awesome as Jessie in SBTB but I've just watched her in the movie "Showgirls" and OMG WHAT HAPPENED? LOL just what posessed Elizabeth to do this movie? Everything about it is beyond terrible from the script to the acting...it's a farce.

Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?

Oh and if you haven't seen Showgirls don't bother. You are not missing anything and trust me you won't be able to watch Jessie on SBTB in quite the same way again lol.

Yes, I know what you mean. I've seen Showgirls...uncensored.

Terrible movie.

I can't look at her playing a character like Jessie's in the same way...a girl who is against women parading in bathing suits for a beauty pagent lol When Elizabeth, in real life, got completely naked in a movie. lol Geez...

I know. What bothers me most was her acting was fine on SBTB but dreadful in Showgirls...just what happened? Poor Elizabeth.

Oh well she was much better in the First Wives Club.

She also had a small, good part in Roger Dodger, which they're showing on Showtime, as well as Showgirls. I taped Showgirls earlier this week, haven't watched it yet .

I've never seen Roger Doger...what kind of movie is it? ...I don't have Showtime. I don't even have TBS that airs SBTB.

"Showgirls" is so bad that it's good. Unlike other people that consider it a drama, to me it's more of a comedy, and I LOVE Gina Gershon's acting in it, she plays a good bitch.

BTW, can you guys believe that Elizabeth beat out Charlize Theron for the role of Nomi?... and that Drew Barrymore turned it down? ...Nice little trivia, LOL.

For Charlize, it was probably for the best. If she would have done Showgirls, she might not have an Oscar to her name today.
