You know that "Knight Rider" two parter, where Sam's introduced. Well, I discovered something.......Maggie doesn't like Sam. Think about this: He was in the pool.....
Meanwhile, Maggie and Mr. D were far away at a stop, kissing, w/o SAM! He's alone in that pool, with a bunch of strangers! Think about what could of happened! And if he was with them while they're were Kissing or *makeing out*, then, as Shirley Feeney would say, "It's the road to smutsville!" ------------------ ALF: As Barry as my witness, I'll never go hungry again! Mr. Kotter: Thinking is very important. Where would George Washington be if he didn't think? Or Thomas Jefferson or Henry Gerani? Washington: I never heard of Henry Gerani! Mr. Kotter: That's becuase he didn't think! [This message has been edited by Sean Snow (edited 08-10-2001).] |

Yeah, she shouldn't have left the little darling alone in the pool. Good point.
More questionable parenting: In Cyrano de Jackson, Mr. D doesn't seem too concerned about Arnold plagarizing those poems for Dudley's benefit. It's not nice to copy a poem and pass it off as your own. |

Look, Mary-Ann, I've been looking at your posts and I've got something to say. We can talk whenever we want, and it's not up to you. This is our opinion, and WELCOME TO IT!

What a funny topic! Good one, Sean! Yeah, Maggie IMO was not a very good parent. Did you noticed she never really hugged Arnold, Kimberly, or Willis a lot? I thought Mary-Ann Mobley was a lot nicer though. Remember in Sam's Missing, when Arnold says that it was his fault Sam got kidnapped, Maggie tells him that it wasn't and hugs him. I just can't picture Dixie Carter doing that though.
Yeah, but in the Hollywood ep. (the one w/ Knight Rider), I agree, Where was the parenting?? Sam could've gotten kidnapped! LOL!! Hey Sean, that's a funny Shirley quote!

Or else what Mary-Ann?
I noticed that about her leaving Sam in the pool, I also thought another example of her bad parenting was in the "Bed Wetting" episode when she has a go at sam for wetting his bed in the first lace, any decent parent should've known that wasn't the best thing to do. |

Mary-Ann. Being rude to the others is not going to make them like Maggie at all. Hey everybody has got their own opinion. They gave theirs respectfully. You are going to have to deal with it. I do not want this topic to create a war on the boards. Now that I think about it, Maggie should have watched Sam a little closer, but IMO that does not make her a bad parent. Let us stick to Different Strokes issues and not our own(issues) with each other.

Mary-Ann, Thomas E is right. We don't all have the same opinion. If you don't respect others opinions, chances are that they won't respect yours.
BTW Jethro Bodine is one of the characters on the 1962-1971 sitcom, "The Beverly Hillbillies" |

A person can't state their opinion without some Johnny come lately coming in saying "You are so stupid. I can't believe you don't like him or her!" That's like me saying everybody on this board is totally stupid if they don't like Dale Midkiff, or Elvis, or whoever. I'm pretty sure most of these people wouldn't even know who Dale Midkiff is! We all have different opinions that should be taken seriously. Hell, I know that this is what makes the world go round.
Name calling is also immature. Name calling is what 2nd graders do. I don't care if you are 11 or 111, I still consider you an adult. I'm sure a lot of people could consider an 11 year old an adult too if you acted mature. Please let's end this squabbling and get back on to the important topics. Note for the future, if someone says something that pisses you off don't post a reply back. More than likely it will start up another war. Keep your opinions about other people's opinions to yourself, you never know when you may run across somebody that beats the hell out of you for calling them stupid because of their opinion. I'm outta of here. I get a headache everytime I see one of these posts that calls somebody stupid because of their opinion. |
