Go Ellen! Her show rocks and I hope she takes home every Emmy she was nominated for. I remember Rosie swept the Emmy's for years with her talk show.
Good luck Ellen Yup, Ellen's Up for Daytime Emmys Thu Mar 4, 4:15 PM ET Add Television - E! Online to My Yahoo! By Joal Ryan For Martha Stewart, Thursday's Daytime Emmy nominations were a good thing. For Ellen DeGeneres, they were a very good thing. • News: Recap of 2003 Daytime Emmy Awards • News: Ellen does daytime • E! Online's full coverage of 2004 Primetime Emmys E! Online Photo Reuters Slideshow: Emmy Awards Stewart, currently awaiting a jury's verdict on her stock-sale-gone-wrong case, saw her venerable homemaking show lock up six nods. DeGeneres, currently awaiting, well, nothing so dire, saw her newbie talk show score 12. "It's a great honor for us to be nominated," DeGeneres said in a statement. "But the greater honor is working with such a talented team every day. I couldn't be happier that they are all being recognized." The comic's use of the word "all" isn't an exaggeration. The Ellen DeGeneres (news) Show will compete at the 31st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in categories from Outstanding Talk Show to Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing. Its dancing hostess is up for Outstanding Host, dancing or otherwise. In the latter race, DeGeneres will square off against fat-fighting Dr. Phil McGraw, the gabby tandem of Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa (news), the women of The View and the canceled Wayne Brady (news). All except DeGeneres are repeat nominees. (Brady's the reigning champ.) The hosting hopefuls also will do battle in the Outstanding Talk Show category, where all of their corresponding shows are nominated. Stewart will compete for individual and show honors, as well. Her Martha Stewart (news - web sites) Living, officially, a provider of "high-quality, how-to content," per Camp Martha, is up for Outstanding Service Show. She's vying for votes against the likes of foodies Bobby Flay and Emeril LaGasse for the service show host Emmy. The Daytime Emmys are scheduled to be presented May 21 in a NBC telecast from New York City's Radio City Hall. The nominations were announced on Today. CBS' top-rated soap The Young and the Restless leads all nominees with 16, including ones for Best Drama Series, lead actress Michelle Stafford (news) and longtime leading man Eric Braeden. Like its prime-time cousin, the Daytime Emmys are about as welcoming of personnel turnover as the U.S. Supreme Court (news - web sites). Hence, many of this year's top daytime-drama races are reruns of last year. All My Children's Susan Lucci (news), for instance, is still a snubbee; Lucci's TV daughter Eden Riegel (news) is still a nominee (as Younger Actress in a Drama Series); General Hospital's Anthony Geary (news) is still a Lead Actor hopeful as Luke. The one category with fresh blood is Best Supporting Actress where As the World Turn's Cady McLain is the lone holdover. NBC, meanwhile, finds itself in the position of airing a show that'll heavily promote ABC and CBS dramas. The Peacock itself managed just one soap nomination in the top categories--a supporting actor nod for James Reynolds for being a good sport about being offed by a serial killer on Days of Our Lives. Befitting its name, the Daytime Emmys honors television that airs during the (mostly) daylight hours--from 2 a.m. up until 6 p.m. Notables scoring nominations in the far-flung field include: Bill Cosby (news), up for his Nick Jr. 'toon Little Bill; the Farrelly Brothers, up for their Kids WB 'toon Ozzy & Driz; Salma Hayek (news), a double nominee for her Showtime special, The Maldonado Miracle; Buffy alum Michelle Trachtenberg (news), up for a turn as herself on Discovery Kids' Truth or Scare; and James Caan (news), up for a bit in Showtime's The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie. The late John Ritter (news) is nominated as Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for PBS' Clifford the Big Red Dog. The late Lynne Thigpen is nominated as Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series for Discovery's Bear in the Big Blue House. Daytime queen Oprah Winfrey (news) is not nominated for anything because she long ago ran out of mantle space, and, as has become her way, did not submit her name for nomination. (Her show is nominated in several tech/craft categories.) Here's a look at the major races: Drama Series: As the World Turns (CBS) The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS) General Hospital (ABC) Guiding Light (CBS) The Young and the Restless (CBS) Lead Actress, Drama Series: Tamara Braun (news), General Hospital (ABC) Nancy Lee Grahn (news), General Hospital (ABC) Michelle Stafford, The Young and the Restless (CBS) Maura West, As the World Turns (CBS) Kim Zimmer (news), Guiding Light (CBS) Lead Actor, Drama Series: Grant Aleksander, Guiding Light (CBS) Maurice Bernard, General Hospital (ABC) Eric Braeden, The Young and the Restless (CBS) Anthony Geary, General Hospital (ABC) Roger Howarth (news), As the World Turns (CBS) Thorsten Kaye (news), Port Charles (ABC) Supporting Actress, Drama Series: Kathy Brier, One Life to Live (ABC) Sharon Case (news), The Young and the Restless (ABC) Ilene Kristen, One Life to Live (ABC) Cady McClain (news), As the World Turns (CBS) Heather Tom (news), The Young and the Restless (ABC) Supporting Actor, Drama Series: William Devry, All My Children (ABC) Rick Hearst (news), General Hospital (ABC) Ron Raines, Guiding Light (CBS) Christian Jules LeBlanc, The Young and the Restless (CBS) James Reynolds, Days of Our Lives (NBC) Talk Show: Dr. Phil (syndicated) The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated) Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated) The View (ABC) The Wayne Brady Show (syndicated) Talk Show Host: Wayne Brady, The Wayne Brady Show (syndicated) Ellen DeGeneres, The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated) Dr. Phil McGraw, Dr. Phil (syndicated) Regis Philbin (news), Kelly Ripa, Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated) Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones, Joy Behar, The View (ABC) Game Show: Jeopardy! Ellen is a pleasure to watch and she earned each and every one of those nominations, She truly has the best talk show on the air today because she is herself. Unlike Rosei O'Donnell, who was also herself, Ellen is never annoying or grating and is always extremely funny. Her show is one of the best things on tv right now.

I'm glad she got so many nominations, and hope she gets all of those awards. By the way, do you know if Tony, specifically, got nominated for anything?
