I prefer Laurel and Hardy as well. Stan was kinda dumb and Ollie was kinda cute, huh?

Both teams were fantastic, but I've got to go with Bud and Lou. I sincerely believe they were the greatest comedy duo of all time - bar none.

Laurel & Hardy were much more visual since they worked in the silent film era long before talkies. Abbott & Costello were in the style of other vaudville duos with their plays on words as well as their slaptick.

Wow, tough call.

I've seen every Abbott and Costello movie dozens of time when I was a kid, and they are great.

Laurel and Hardy were a tremendous team though. Their verbal shtick was fantastic. They were also one of the few silent film comics who were able to improve their act with the advent of sound.

IMO like comparing apples and oranges...can't be done...both temas were great, but specialized in two very different types of comedy.

Two totally different styles of comedy.

But and Lou were much smarter and more clever with the gags.

Laurel and Hardy were more physical comedy and sometimes too slow developing.

When both teams were at their best there was nothing funnier.

I loved both teams.

I loved Laurel and Hardy every Thanksgiving in The March of the wooden soldiers but I have to give it up for..........

Abbott and Costello. I just enjoyed them more when I was a younger gal.

I must agree. You really can't do a one on one (or two on two) comparison. But, while I love both teams, Laurel and Hardy will always be #1 to me.
