Default Monk - Season 1 DVD - 6/15/04

From Tvshowsondvd.com:

Monk - Finally! Season 1 - Specs, Art, Extras, & Details!
Posted by David Lambert
3/01/2004
Tvshowsondvd.com

He's ingenious, he's phobic, he's obsessive-compulsive. Monk's hilarious, offbeat antics have made him unfit for duty, but he's back as a police consultant to help out on their most baffling cases. The brilliant but neurotic Monk (Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Tony Shalhoub) is now fighting crime as well as his abnormal fears of germs, cars, heights, crowds and virtually everything else known to man in "the best detective show to come along in decades." (NY Post) Now you can enjoy the entire first season of Monk on DVD.

June 15th will see the long-awaited release of Monk - Season 1 on DVD, which is welcome news for fans who fumed that an earlier release date "announced" at the Monk homepage was missed, with no explanation.

But it seems like the wait will be worth it! Besides the entire first season, clocking in at 9 hours and 23 minutes of entertainment, Universal Home Video is also providing these great supplements:

Mr. Monk and His Origins
Mr. Monk and His O.C.D.
Mr. Monk and His Fellow Sufferers
Mr. Monk and His Emmy Award Winning Performance
Mr. Monk and His Partners in Crime
Special Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel (Limited Time Only)

And you get all of this in a 4-DVD set for just $59.98 list price. Specs line up as follows: Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1), English Dolby Surround, French Dolby Surround, Spanish Dolby Surround, English Captions, French Subtitles, and Spanish Subtitles. Finally, here's a look at the cover art and a couple of menu screens:

Is there not a dork out there excited about this as much as me?

Not saying I'm a dork or anything, but umm, uh, maybe.

Unbelievable. This is awful soon to be releasing the first season, isn't it? I mean, the first season of Cheers got released only a few months ago. But that's beside the point. Congrats to Monk and Tony and everybody...this is one great show.

the two per night on ABC Family? those are the best! do you ever play the Whose Line games with your friends? I rule at Song Titles, Questions Only, and our own version of Scenes from a Hat

Yeah, the ABC Family ones are the only ones I ever watch.

I would totally play the games with my friends and family, but nobody I know is really into it like I am. My sister is starting to like it, though, so we'll see. *crosses fingers*
