while neither Bad or Dangerous came close to Thriller or Off The Wall, I think both cd's had enough good songs on each to save them from having bad raps. Now Invincible and HIStory (the "new" disc, not the GH disc) do have bad raps

I like Madonna's American Life cd, most people didn't.

I also loved Olivia Newton-John's Soul Kiss album from 1985, the album did so poorly it killed her career in the US, even tho the title track was a minor hit (even tho it should've been a smash)

That's not even an official album, it was just a bunch of tracks Christina recorded for fun when she was 14/15. Someone found out that they had the rights to them, and released it under some obscure label, not RCA.

I don't see anything infamously bad about the album. I thought both Lennon and Ono were great on that record. Now Two Virgins or The Wedding Album definately.

alot of people hate metallica's "st. anger" because it sounds different than the other albums. and "load" and "reload" because theyre hard rock. i dont care though, they all kick ass.

what about Press To Play for Paul? I do think "Press" was probably the best non-Tug Of War/Flowers In The Dirt song he did in the entire 1980's decade (a real shame it only peaked at #21 when crap like Spies Like Us went top 10), but the rest of the album was awful.

I agree with you. The album didn't duplicate the success of Baby One More Time or Oops I Did It Again, but I do think the album was successful enough, and it did help turn the tides audience-wise to Britney to where she is now. Turning her fanbase from 12 year old girls to making her an artist who more adults can be open about liking without feeling embarassed (think how many adults would be caught dead admitting they like Hilary Duff). She'll probably never move 13 million copies of one album again, but I think Britney definately opened the door to making it more "acceptable" for adults to like her.
