Hi

I know a bunch of people on here write to the stars from FOL, and I've been toying with the idea of writing to some of my fave celebs. Can everybody give me hints on how to get started like what to include in the SASE and stuff.

Like I say I really would like to write to some celebs, and don't want to sound like a total hick, so PLEASE help me!! Thanks

The first celeb I wrote to was Mindy Cohn. I think I wrote Hello, is this Mindy Cohn? Write back please. I ususally don't want to get too excited in case it's not them.

NancyFan- I think JC is so hot. He looked better in the 1st and 2nd Anne movies, but he still looked good in the 3rd movie.

as for getting started, first thing's first...send them a nice letter

The best thing to do is send YOUR OWN photos to get signed, therefore the chances of getting a preprint or presigned photo are less. Not foul-proof, but still very effective. As well, many celebs take longer to reply if they ran out of their own photos.

DO send a 9x12 SASE with a piece of 8.5x11 cardboard inside of it to protect your photo.
and don't forget to write "DO NOT BEND" on your envelopes.

1) I wrote to Lisa Whelchel and got a very quick and super reply. This is fortunate cause she just left on her cross-country tour and won't be back for a VERY long time.

2) I wrote to Charlotte Rae TWICE and still no Answer, although others have succeeded.

3) I sent a request to Kim Fields 2 weeks ago. Wish me luck on that one!

4)I sent a request and FOL groupshot to Mindy WELL over a month ago. Still no reply, but would be nice to eventually get that photo back.

5)I wrote to Nancy McKeon a month ago, but still no reply, however I'm not worried TOO much since others have rec'd replies from her as long as 6 months after they sent their photo requests to her.

What DOES worry me about Nancy is that she normally sends out postcard-size photos in black signature. I sent her a few 8x10's and a gold pen. Yesterday, a fan on STARARCHIVE.com reported that she rec'd a 8x10 signed in gold! Therefore, I'm slightly worried that she might have sent my photos to other fans

I don't mind if she kept my pen and used it on other people's photo's, however I surely hope that she didn't send them MY pics!

Why would she have done that? Well, I mentioned in my letter that "I hope you DO take part in the upcoming FOL reunion. There would be no point of having one without you (nancy) being involved". Even though this is a compliment, I realize she might have taken some offence to it.

I realize I'm a bit paranoid, but these photos were expensive and VERY hard to get.
