Default The Reunion Show!

I have read the script for the reunion show and all I can say is that I think everyone will be VERY happy.

i'm sure you all want to know what it's all about, but security is tighter than you might ever imagine.

I CAN tell you all that the story is about a person who does a thing with some people about a person in a place while a thing happens. then some more people do a thing about the same person but differently and in the same place. then more things happen. then it ends. or does it?

got it?

you'll love it.

it films in March at the CBS Studios in Studio City California - on the same stage where Seinfeld was filmed.

more as allowed.

Hope everyone is loving season 3. stand by for 4 and 5

Best,

Doug

PS. Have any other Amazon affiliates been frustrated because:
1. they unilaterally dropped the commissions from 15% to 5%?
2. they have not yet gotten their checks?

Let me know. I think Mr. Bezos needs a heads-up.

Doug, thank you for the update! I'm glad to hear that you love the script and I hope we are very happy. I only have one question about it. Will I be able to watch it with my 3 young children or is it for adults only? By that I mean language and sexual situations. Do you think this will be for the whole family? I know there are many on this board with the same question. Thanks!!

Thanks Doug,
That's great news indeed.
Speaking of seasons 3 & 4, I was just wondering; is there any entity that keeps track of video sales and publishes them that you are aware of? I mean, sort of like a "Best Seller's List" for videos instead of books. I'm curious as to how many copies of TDVDS on DVD has been sold to date, and which season is the best selling of all.

First, I fully expect that the Dick Van Dyke Show revisited will be family viewing. I've read nothing in the script that would be objectionable. Of course 'language' is a relative thing, but i'm happy to pass on everyone's concerns to Dad.

I think i recall that there was some dialogue in The Gin Game that some felt offensive, correct? Different characters completely.

but let me know your feelings and I'll certainly pass them on.

as far as sales figures, i'm very interested too for obvious reasons. I don't presently subscribe to the service that tracks that but am working to find out. if anyone else knows, please let me know.

when will the show air? And how long is it? I assume it will be on CBS, but will it also air on TV LAND?
Please don't tell me it'll air on a Sunday night from 9 to 11:00, because I'm ussauly out on Sundays and we can't record on our VCR!

Also, are you Carl Reiners son? Because you called him "Dad".

Treky, Doug Denoff is the son of Sam Denoff, one of the brilliant writers of TDVDS. I believe Sam Denoff is involved in the reunion show, which is why Doug said he would mention our concerns to his dad. Pretty cool, huh?

Doug,

First off, thanks for that update. We always enjoy your updates (I think I can speak for most people with the plural pronoun "we").

Since you asked, I'll voice my opinion. I really would love to see the special be done in the spirit of the original series. By that I don't mean some weird "Brady Bunch" thing where the characters are stuck in the 60's. And I know that's not the case anyway, with Carl already stating the basic premise of the Reunion.

But, what I mean is that I'd really like to see them use absolutely no profanity at all. No "D***" or "H***" or anything like that. Yes, I realize that it could be a cheap way to get a laugh or two, since some folks in our culture would find it amusing to hear an older Laura get upset and use one of those words. But I'm truly convinced that it would be just that - a CHEAP way to get a laugh.

I'd also like to see a clean show as far as sexual innenduo (something similar to the style used on the show itself, where everything about Rob and Laura's intimate life was completely veiled). I don't need to hear one of the cast commenting on some woman's body parts or even see Alan Brady with some young floosy (like on that horrible cartoon).

Well, that's just my opinion on the matter. I'm sure other "objectionable" material will be irrelevant (such as violence), so those two things - profanity and sexual situations - would be my only concerns.

Thanks again.

Hey, B&W Fan! I didn't expect to see you back on the board so soon! How did the move go? Glad to have you back, especially echoing my concerns about the reunion show. Doug says it's good! I want to believe him!

Good to see you too, Lolac (and everyone else as well). I'm on a painfully slow telephone connection here at my parents until my house is finished and I can hook back up with a cable modem. The slowness will probably keep me from posting as much as I'd like, so forgive me if I don't answer as often as I used to.

Take care,
