Friend's heritage - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I decided out of boredom that I'd try to peice together the ethnic ancestry of the six. This is what I've been able to figure out so far:

Joey- Obviously Italian. Besides the fact that his last name is Italian, it's been stated numerous times through out the show.

Ross and Monica: I'm pretty sure they are Jewish... There have been several clues to this assumption in various episodes, and the last name sounds Jewish.

Chandler: I remember hearing somewhere that he is Scottish and Swedish. I believe it's been stated in the show before, too.

Phoebe: Her last name sounds French, and I think she mentions something about French ancestry in one episode. I could be wrong, though.

Rachel: I don't think they've ever actually addressed it on the show, but I've heard her refered to as a "Jewish American Princess" before.

LOL, I don't remember that one... I do remember Monica telling "fake Monica" that she was Pennsylvania Dutch, though.

I dont remember the exact episode but it was when Joey and Chandler both brought home take out. Joey brought pizza and Chandler brought chinese food, so Joey says something like " this is perfect! food from my ancestors and from your ancestors!"
