Lightbulb I need some advice...

Hey everyone,

I have been enjoying my Season 3 just as much as the first two sets, and one of my friends is finally curious about the show. She agreed to borrow a DVD and watch the episodes. My problem is, she only wants to borrow one DVD to begin with, and I'm not sure which one to give her.

I was wondering which one DVD out of the 15 from the first 3 seasons you would choose as the best representation of the show? If someone has never seen the show, which one would you choose as the best to start with?

I'd love some of your feedback since I'm never good at deciding this kind of thing. I love the show so much that I just can't decide my favorite episodes. But I'd love to get her hooked as a fan, so I'd love to know what you all think.

Christina

So far, I'd have to say Disc 3, four, or five of Season 3.

Disc 3 has Has a wife beater, a priest, George and Betty, a marked deck of cards, and Stevie Parsons.

However, Disc 4 is solid all the way through, with graveyard humor, a new car, a flashback, and the Fish Man and the Mad Russian.

Disc 5 is just as solid.

But out of all of 'em, I'd go with disc four, season 3. My love for "The Return of Edwin Carp" outweighs all.

Boy Christina, that's a tough question!

I bet you'll get a bunch of differing opinions, but I'd lend her the last disc of season 2 because what I think is the funniest episode of the series, "All About Eavesdropping" is on it!

I don't think you can go wrong whichever DVD you give to your friend, but just make sure you get it back

You're a good friend for sharing!

Since she's your friend, you probably have similar interests in humor. Why not give her the disc you like most? It'll have more than enough stuff for her to laugh at, and from what I've seen at work, it doesn't take long for people to get hooked on this show.
I was going to say the same thing as Larry Surrell. Be sure to get it back!

Steve

How about "That's My Boy?" or "October Eve." You can't go wrong with those. Or "Ballad of the Betty Lou" or "What's in a Middle Name?" You know, this IS hard. Every time I think of one of my favorite episodes, I think of another one and they aren't on the same disc. Wait, wait! How about "Honeymoons are for the Lucky?" Maybe what you should do is invite her over to your house for a TDVDS marathon! It's too hard to choose!

I agree about "That's My Boy??" That's always been a fave. I also think "Where Did I Come From?" from season 1 is good. You can't go wrong with either of those. There's also "Oh How We Met on the Night That We Danced," which is a fave of mine as well.

BTW, I don't have season 3 yet (I know, shame shame!) but I ordered it from Deep Discount DVD, and it shipped today! I can't wait!

I don't have a DVD player yet, but when I do get one (which hopefully will be very, very soon) "TDVDS" will be the first DVDs that I buy!

As for your question, that's a toughie. But some of my favorite episodes are "That's my Boy??!!" "Where did I Come From" "Oh How we met, the Night that we danced" "It may Look Like a Walnut" "Never Bathe on Saturday" "The Ballad of the Betty Lou"there's just too many to list!

I don't know how many of these are on DVD yet, but any of these would be a good introduction for someone.
