Did anybody else notice that most of the characters names resemble the actors real names.

For instance...

Ernest Thomas- Roger Thomas
Fred Berry- Fred"Rerun" Stubbs
Haywood Nelson- Dwayne Nelson
Mabel King- Mabel Thomas
Shirley Hemphill- Shirley
Danielle Spencer- "Dee" Thomas

Good observation, I guess it was just easier to use their real names than came up with new ones.

I have always paid attention to that since I was a kid watching the show.
