Wink Hyped Up Hollywood

Here is an interesting topic. Ever got hooked on collecting merchandise from Hollywood hyped hit movies?

This would include fast food toys, cereal box goodies, action figures, books, t-shirts, etc.

I have to admit- I love collecting film tin cans (I can get them at work). I have about 10 film tins from different movie releases. The Harry Potter film tins collection are my favorite.

I have some of the fast food toys from Toy Story, Babe and some other movies. They are all still wrapped up in the plastic. My sister collected a bunch of the glasses that the fast food places were selling in the 80's. She had a bunch of Smurf, Peanuts and Muppet ones as well as a bunch of others. I inheireted them when she passed away and still drink out of them.

I have alot of Disney type of stuff. When Oceans Eleven (2001) came out I was obsessed. I have all sorts of pictures from the movie and even the novel adaption....but i don't think thats like having 'everything' Alot of people do that with the Lord of the Ring trilogy...it got popular and everyone had stuff from it.

Over the years I have amassed quite a large collection of "Star Wars" merchandise, mostly the toys, but also posters, fan club magazines and merchandise, and books.
I stopped buying the action figures a few years ago because I couldn't keep up with what was being released, plus I was running out of money for other things, like food and clothing.

Which ones did you collect?
The figures from the 70's and 80's, or the new figures from 1995 to present day?

When my son was small he collected The Toy Story figures and some Barney
the dinosaur stuff, we still have a Barney plate & bowl. He doesn't like to
be reminded of his liking Barney though.
