Default A Funny Concept

What strikes me funny about "Green Acres" is the fact that OLIVER was the one who wanted to move to the country...and HE'S the one who seems to have the biggest problem living out there!

Oliver's ALWAYS fighting with, and getting aggravated by the local folk, and they look at HIM like he's from another planet....However, Lisa, who DIDN'T want to move out to the country, gets along just fine with everyone, and they seem to accept her too.

Lisa actually adapted to the rural community a lot better than her farm-loving husband did!

You're right........

She tried to be so helpful..... She made those flapjacks just to prove she was happy there. I'm surprised at Oliver! He turned out to be a wimp.

But isn't that the way life is sometimes?
Our best laid plans don't exactly work out the way we wanted them to.

Oliver was more stressed than Lisa because he was the one who had to deal with all of those idiots on a regular day to day bases.

But for the most part, Lisa dealt with the same people Oliver did, but she did not get aggravated like Olver, she just accepted it and even joined in. While Oliver would shudder at Mr Haney's offers, Lisa would bid the other way, offering less money each time. Oliver would be irritated at Kimball's talking back to himself; Lisa would mimic it. Oliver usually fired the Monroe brothers; Lisa hired them as butler and maid.

I think Lisa just fit in with them better. She seemed to think more like them. Besides, Oliver had his high expectations. That's when you get the most irritated, when something you expected to go right goes wrong. Lisa on the other hand, didn't think anything would go right.

I second that. Oliver was a blowhard even when he lived in New York. That was just his nature... it's like his lot in life was to be the only sane man living in an insane world--- and to be the most aggravated person on earth!

So very true...if he didn't have bad luck, he wouldn't have any luck at all.
