It is sad. But look at it this way. 10, 20, 30+ years ago it was mainly just the "Big 3" NBC, CBS, and ABC. Now today there are numerous cable and satelite channels with lots of kid-friendly programming.

Saturday mornings used to be cartoon time. Now the networks show the news. What a shame.

I used to love getting up on Saturday mornings to look at cartoons. I mean there really isn't anything to look at now. It's pitiful! so I purchased some looney tunes tapes from columbia house and that's what I look at. I wish that they would release the smurfs!

I remember years ago, I used to watch Saturday morning cartoons since I was a kid. I used to love "Fat Albert", "Captain N", "New Kids on the Block", "The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show", "The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show", "Scooby-Doo" and "Richie Rich". Too bad, CBS and NBC had stop showing Saturday morning cartoons for news. ABC, FOX and WB did very well too. All of these old cartoon shows that I grew up with are now being shown on Boomerang and Toon Disney. I'm sort of a Saturday morning historian myself too.

Just a few years ago, Cartoon Network showed 2 hours of Boomerang and 4 solid hours of Looney Tunes. Now it's Dexters Lab, Powerpuff, Grim. All shows they showed less than 12 hours ago. Often the exact same episode.

I still watch Saturday Morning Entertainment--from Kids WB (Pokemon), FOX BOX (Sonic X, Ninja Turtles, Ultimate Muscle, Kirby), ABC (That's So Raven) and ABC Family (Power Rangers).

I LOVED saturday morning cartoons. Now there's barely anything good on........what is the point of CBSSaturday Morning show? I don't want to watch that junk. Plus, the local NBC station (out of a city an hour away since my ciry doesn't have one) has to have their stupid saturday morning 1 hour news (pointless). They stopped doing Teen NBC years ago.

And remember, not everyone gets cable. Some people just get the basics so the kids miss out on a lot of great cartoons.

I used to watch Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show. But they don't play that anymore.
