Sick subject but I am fascinated with serial killers

I know that this is a sick subject and even my own parents and brother and sister don't like it as well but if I could go back to college I would love to study the physcology and investigate what makes a normal human person turned into a serial killer. I watch shows on Court Tv, A&E, Discovery, TLC, etc when any serial killer is profiled. The term serial killer wasn't brought into the dictionary until Ted Bundy was arrested for murdering close to 35 young women and one of them was the youngest a 12-year old girl before he was "juiced" in 1989 in Florida. Here are some facts that are too good to be true:

1. Serial killers are not like scumbags, criminal looking, or really the "filfth of the world" kind of people. It is hard to believe but a author Anne Rule, who knew Bundy personally and worked with him at a crisis center for young teenagers said that they act normal and blend easily into society

2. They are often well-educated(Bundy graduated in Chinese with a BA with high honors and was briefly attending law school), well-liked(John Wayne Gacy was a pillar and popular in the community especially with the neighborhood children who dressed up as Pogo the clown to entertain the kids at their birthday parties), seem like your typical everyday normal human being(like also Jeffrey Dahlmer who went into the Armed Forces for a year and also briefly attended college)

3. They look like happy go lucky on the outside but they are mentally and emotionally disturbed individuals and always seeking and wanting attention and are mainly all alone up to 85% of the time

4. They privately but effectively look for why they kill and who they kill. The people they kill either know them like briefly or don't know them at all but serial killers target them anyway just to get "A thrill for killing"

Examples:

1. John Wayne Gacy hired young males like in-between the ages of 12-17 and sometimes in their very early twenties. He hired them for his hardware store and tried to make friends with the teens. Then invited them to his house where he performed sex acts on them and then killed them for fear of the teens going to the police. Gacy seemed gregarious on the outside but as up to 38 boys would find out they were denied a chance to tell their side of the story because about a few years later when one of his few would be victims escaped he went and told on Gacy and what acts he performed or tried and then police had Gacy under survillance and then months later they begin to smell flesh and blood and then they found the boys bodies in the crawlspace of his house and the town of Chicago were stunned. He was executed by lethal injection in 1994. One of the signs says "No more tears for the clown" and had Gacy as Pogo on the poster and behind bars

2. Jeffrey Dahlmer was handsome and women were attracted to him but he wasn't attracted to the opposite sex. One day he was alone and his parents were in the process of a divorce and he was living with his mom I think and he met a man the same age his teens and then Jeffrey, who was obsessed with the antomies of animals like lizards, frogs, even snakes, spiders, etc was decaptiating the animals with his own tools and own kit and then he invited the other kid and then he struck him down several times until he died and put his body in a bag and took it to the local nearby dump. The boy's parents never suspected Dahlmer of killing their son. He was only 17 when he killed his first victim. He went for a stint in the Army but dropped out a year later and got a job at a nearby Milwaukee chocolate factory and was a shy, quiet, and caused no trouble whatsoever and ate his doughnuts on break on the nightshift. Then he began crusing gay/lesbian bars and picked up men, somehow African-Americans mostly was his liking for some strange reason. Then they would go and drink beer at his apartment and then like the first victim he killed he struck the men and performed sex acts on them. Then, of course to not make the story so disgusting and graphic, cannobolize their remains and was like the Hannibal the Cannibal character made famous in The Silence of the Lambs. His landlords nor his neighbors in the apartment didn't expect any trouble from Dahlmer and said that he was quiet and very considerate but also said that he didn't buy that much "real food" when he goes to the market but mainly beer. Nobody expected anything until one night in 1991 an Asian teen was found butt naked and beaten to the max and he told the people who found him that Jeffrey Dahlmer did this to him and then he died later. Then the landlords and people in his building were shocked and police began to search Dahlmer''s apartment and found the remains of his victims and only very little food and mainly beer. They found the remains in a huge containers like in iceboxes and refridgerators and Dahlmer's bosses also fired him when he didn't show up for work more than ten times and/or showed up later than his required shift. He then made international news and since Wisconsin didn't have a death penalty he got up to in-between 11 to 15 life terms without the possibility of parole and/or probation for each killing. Then he was tried on the Ohio killing teenager which he lived there as a kid growing up and was sentenced to 99 years behind bars as the Milwaukee judge told him that he will never see the light of freedom ever, ever, again. Dahlmer became a born-again Christian and was for almost all of his thirty-four years on earth was estranged from his father until NBC Dateline arranged an emotional meeting and he was considered a model prisoner. He and his dad kept in touch but on November 28 1994 while reporting to pool duty he was blundgeon to death by an inmate serving time for murder.

I don't see anything wrong with wanting to know what makes serial killers do what they do. I once started reading a book about this elderly man who kidnapped kids in the 1920's and 30's then murdered and ate them. The book went into every detail of what he did to these kids. It was so gross in fact that I never finished the book.

3. Aileen Wuenos is known as one of the "very, very" few if not the first female serial killer and she is portrayed by Charlize Theron who is Oscar nominated for her role in "Monster" and BTW all bets on her to take home the trophy as the movie portrays her as the "victim" much less to the dismay of the victims families. You know that is just Hollywood I guess!!?? Figure it out!! She was an lesbian and frequentally hung out in gay/lesbian bars and shruck a relationship with a young woman named Selby portrayed in the movie by Christine Ricci and they had a "love affair" with each other(pre-Ellen Degeneras-Anne Heche) and kept in touch even though they saw less of each other. She then turned her attention on men and she hitched hiked all around Florida and earned cash as a prostitue/stripper and she would mostly gather white, middle-aged, middle-classed, men who had families and do strip acts on them and she claimed when she shot and killed the men that it was "she" not them was the victim also much less to the chargin and dismay of the victims's families. She claimed she was emotionally, mentally, and physically abused and raped or almost raped and when the men came to "rape her" she shot the men in callous & cold blood. Most of them lied butt naked and she killed seven as reported but may have killed many, many, more and that is something that she took to her grave. She was spotted and was arrested for indencent & public exposure(Dahlmer was arrested for public exposure & intoxication in front of minors) but then the DNA came back as she became a suspect in several murders in Florida as some of her clothing were found on the men, their cars, hotels, etc. She was facing the electric chair(the chair that took Ted Bundy's life) and she was found competant to stand trial even though she acted like she was a stupid person. As her former lover Selby testified about Wuernos wanting to kill men and fantasized about killing them and her inferiority on men intensified. After a nearly long month trial she was guilty on about twenty counts of first degree murder, sodimy, "rape on a man", and was sentenced to die. In the now infamous waiting for her punishment she said that she has found peace in the Lord as she was fingerprinted. The next few days when her penalty was death she was cursing like she had a mouth of a sailor. She had to be restrained. She gave only one interview in her nine years on death row. She acted like she wasn't there and still proclaimed her innocence. Switching from the electric chair due to a now infamous and graphic pictures of an 300-pound man and his face and head all bloodied to lethal injection(now the #1 death choice replacing the nearly century old former death choice the electric chair) and after nearly nine years on death row, she was put to sleep quietly in 2002.

I don't find the subject 'Sick' either. I've watched numerous shows on Serial Killers on all the Channels you listed- plus I read up on a few online also. There's actually ways to classify them and everything. The subject is extremely fascinating, but really sick and twisted to when you hear about what they do. It's gross, but interesting to find out how, for the most part, they think and how the authorities catch them. I do the research cause I write crime stories, and my fan-fictions are about 'The Division', a cop show, so I like to know what I'm writing about and not doing it blind.


The Hannibal Series is actually pretty interesting. I find the best being 'Red Dragon' the book and the movie are extraordinary!! !

I find psychology interesting as well. My big interest is suicide. I don't know why, I guess I just find it interesting what goes on in a person's mind who wants to kill themselves.
