Post About the reunion, honestly...

I don't think it's going to be that great. Reunions or sequels have never lived up to the originals in the first place. And, I just don't think it's going to be the same without Jo. It wouldn't be the same no matter who was missing, it's just the fact that someone, who was a core character, isn't there. I'll watch it just to see the other actresses and how they plan it out, but I don't think it's going to be good. I rememeber those eps that NMK wasn't in during FOL, and though the eps in themselves were okay, it just wasn't the same without Nancy. Something was obviously missing. What do you guys think?

------------------
Jo: Partners? You mean 50-50? Uh, 50-50-50-50-50?
Blair: Good, Jo, we'll let you do the books!

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

And from your two resident off-topic queens, Danielle and I, who are still looking for that 12 step program by the way:

I agree 100% also if Kim Fields isn't in it, it won't be good. I mean the character Blair will be missing her opposite--Jo. And the Character Natalie will be missing her oppostite--Tootie. I just don't think it's going to be as great as every1 is makign it out to be

I think it will still be good. It probably won't be as good as the original show, but it might still be good. I'm definally going to watch it!

Let's be honest, it was the cast members decision whether they wanted to do it or not. None of them are on welfare. They agreed to do it because they thought it would be fun to do and reunite.

If you are going into it with really high expectations, you probably are going to be disappointed. It's really not about a 'reunion movie', it's about getting to see them (well most of them) together on screen. I don't think anything in the movie is going to tarnish the original series.

Most of the people that will watch it won't even be the die-hard fans on this board, it will be the people that maybe saw an episode here and there and they are curious as to what everybody looks like today.

Thumbs up

I was really looking forward to it untill I saaw that Lisa Whelchel ET thing then i got really mad and almost through the clicker into the TV untill my dad held me back and told me it was just a show and to get over it.But I'm not mad that nancy isn't doing it just that Jo will be in the Netherlands come on she hates the mountians(I think I've posted this before)anyway I can't wait to meet everyone since I'll be playing Jo's daughter Jamie in the reunion (i wish)but it could happen right?Anyway I think the show needs a proper closing and so does this post so I will now step off of my saopbox (whatever that means I just hear people say it)

Sad

I'll watch it no matter what, just to see everybody together again but I have very low expectations for it. Without the character of Jo, what's Blair going to do? I can't even imagine what the story will be about. I already expect very little of it but I fear this could be a huge joke. We could be hearing Leno, Letterman and the entertainment media making jokes about it for a long time if it's really bad. The Jo being dead thing would have been better, at least that offers some dramatic substance and closure.

I loved Facts of Life.In the mid-80s it was probably my favorite show. The series went a little too long for it's own good.(I liked Chloris Leachman in other roles,but-)As far as I'm concenred, the FoL reunion movie doesn't exist and when(or should that be if) it does air,I will be seeing something else- or maybe I'll even be out of the house when it's on!There are other shows I've purposely missed-but if I want to name them, maybe I should go on other sites.

I also have a lot of regard for Nancy,Lisa, Charlotte,Kim and Mindy.I have even seen them in other shows or ads.I admire Nancy for continuing her career and admire Lisa for her devotion to God and to her family.I would admire Lisa more if she didn't go on the reunion, causing it to be a no-show anyway.

Cool

I will prolly tune in,,, but just enough to see the old cast. I'm not expecting much of a story but it would be cool to catch a glimpse of Mindy, Charlotte, and Lisa.

Tootie: Muffy? Her name is Muffy? What kind of person is named Muffy?

Jo: Beats me, Tootie.

Agreed 100% with TJ.

Reunions and remakes don't normally live up to their original shows.

Think of the reunion as a get-together party. Everyone is invited, but not everyone will show up.

Of course it'll be a trip seeing them all( well, some of them) together again. I'm not flipping out because Nancy McKeon has decided not to appear. If even she can move on, I certainly can too.
But, I do think that they SHOULD kill off Jo. I'd actually think it would make things a little more interesting. Morbid, yes. But at least they could do something with the scenario. Instead of that lame "trekking off in the mountains" excuse. Boo. :P

You know instead of a reunion show where there is a plot, I would rather have them discuss their lives, FOL, and other interesting tid bits.
What about you?
