Okay, I'll tell you why I don't like Jo that much. She didn't show her emotions. I mean, only under pressure did she show them, and I hate when people do that.

What do you mean she didn't show her emotions?! She was the only one who really showed her emotions. She was the most believable of all the characters. She might not have worn her emotions on her sleve, but she was very emotional. If any of the girls didn't show emotion it was Blair. She was such a fake.

yeah, right. she was not the only emotional person on the show. Neither was Blair. Did I say that I liked Blair? No, I didn't. It's just that I happen to show my emotions a lot (often unwillingly) and so does most everyone around here. And this is the only place I've ever lived, and we don't go on vacation much, so Jo is not very realistic to me. I mean, she refuses to admit what she's feeling sometimes. You all talk about how that episode where the go to New York is good because Jo said she worried about Blair. Well, when Blair asked about that, Jo wouldn't admit to it. I forget whether she did or not eventually, but at first she didn't and just gave that guy a mean look.

I don't think Jo is unrealistic at all. There are people who won't show emotion. I happen to be one of them. I never let anyone know if anything is bothering me, much like Jo. She hates to feel vulnerable, she always wants to be in control, so that's why she never shows her emotions. It's not uncommon, and it suits her character.

I think when it comes down to it, Jo will show emotion. I don't think she really likes to, but darn it, it just happens.

How can you say that Jo doesn't show any emotion? Sure, she may not walk around showing the whole world what she is feeling, but when something happens to her or someone she cares about, she DOES show emotion. Like in S5 when Natalie's father dies, Jo definitley showed how badly she felt for Nat. Or how upset she was when she found out that her former boyfriend Eddie was married and lied to her? She was crying, she may not have wanted the others to see her, but I am the same way. Not everyone likes other people to see them being vulnerable like that.

Oh God. Now I'm a scum for not liking a certain character?! For heaven's sake, I didn't mean to offend anybody. I was just raised around people who show emotion openly. I'm sorry my past is filled with being "vulnerable." If it will make you happy I won't post on this board anymore. I didn't know no one respected others' opinions here.

Okay, I think Jo is a neat character. But, I do not think she is the best out of the sitcom. I like Lisa Whelcher, Mindy Cohn, Charlette Rae, Nancy McKean and Kim Fields. I think you should be nice not tuff - because people will respect that out of a woman or a girl.
My idol (the person I respect outside my family) is Bill Bixby. ------------------ M.R. Mindy Roberts |
