Default How many agree if a parent show sells well on DVD, the short-lived spinoff will too?

I really don't believe that. There are many fans of All in the Family who would not watch Gloria and fans of three's company whp would not watch 30 minutes of the Ropers. So i don;t think a unsucessful spinoff would do well in the stores if the parent show did well in the sales. Which is why i think spinoffs like these would never be on DVD

(Ropers)-spinoff from Three's Company
(Three's a crowd)-spinoff from Three's Company
(Sanford Arms)-spinoff from Sanford and Son
(Gloria)-spinoff from Archie Bunker's Place
(Flo)-spinoff from Alice
(Checking In)-spinoff from Jeffersons

With the exception of Gloria and Flo (never really liked Gloria on All in the Family.... and not even a fan of "Alice")....

Id buy all of those on DVD.

Another example could be the short-lived Cheers' spinoff....
"The Tortellis"
(which i would DEFINATELY buy on DVD)

That's no reason why a sitcom shouldn't be on DVD. 95% of the shows out on DVD I don't care for, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be available.

Even though I dont like the show.... if a show like MASH doesn't belong on DVD (which has a large fanbase and following).... no show does.

Does every classic, long-running, award-winning show you don't like not belong on DVD?

So? Most of the shows you like I don't find funny at all, but you don't hear me saying they shouldn't be on DVD.

exactly, wasn't he the person who said Saved By The Bell was the best series of all time? (if not, then forgive me, but I remember someone in here taking up for SBTB when others started bashing it) I have only ever been a very casual Mash fan, would never purchase the DVD's, but I'd certainly say it was a much better series as a whole than SBTB was (no offense to the fans in here)

Personal taste doesn't dictate everything. I love Beavis And Butt-Head yet find Cheers overrated. And while I bought the B&B DVD's and wouldn't want the Cheers discs (tho I might get the Diane seasons for cheap sometime, but never the Rebecca seasons), I'd definately say Cheers was the better series of the two.

Different taste for different people. One persons dislike of MASH doesn't mean that there aren't MILLIONS of fans out there who loved the show
