Post Have you guys noticed...

...how successful shows with four women living together are? FOL, the Golden Girls, Designing Women were all about four females living together. I wonder why they are so popular? All of them had good writing, but what is it about that set-up? What do you guys think?

Jo: Partners? You mean 50-50? Uh, 50-50-50-50-50?
Blair: Good, Jo, we'll let you do the books!

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

And from your two resident off-topic queens, Danielle and I, who are still looking for that 12 step program by the way:

The women of Designing Women didn't live together....they just worked together at Julia's home. But I digress.....

Interesting observation, and I'm not sure what makes it work? Maybe having four women on the show affords having characters that can appeal to all types of viewers. I think this is true of all ensemble cast shows, even the ones that break the all female formula. Seinfeld, Friends, and Frasier were also very successful shows.

I don't think it was the fact that four women lived together. I think it was because the show was funny, it taught lessons, and it dealt with real life situations and helped people: thats what made it so popular.

Plus, is Golden Girls really that popular? Lol..
