Default question about Jazz?

Was Will supposed to have known Jazz from his days in Philly?

The reason I ask is that, in the opening credits, there is the scene that shows Will playing basketball while his still living in Philly, and Jazz appears to be out there with him on the court.

Is this just a gaping plot hole/error (wouldn't be the first one on FPoBA), or was Will supposed to have know Jazz from Philly, or am I completely mistaken?

I think I've seen just about FPoBA episode multiple times (especially the earlier ones), I can't remember there ever being an explaniation as to how Will and Jazz originally meet.

I think on the show, Jazz was supposed to be from LA not Philly. Remember that episode when Jazz let Will and Carlton spend the weekend over his place so they can see if Carlton had what it took to survive in he hood. Plus Will and Jazz had LA and Phila debates in certain eps. But i can't remember how they met. But Jazz and Will Smith did grew up together in Philadelphia.

I always thought Will was to supposed to have known Jazz from Philly. In one episode, I thought I remembered Will introducing Jazz as a friend from Philly that moved to LA or something like that.

Jazz was from Philly on the show. He wasn't from LA. He moved to LA because of Will.

That's what I had thought. They were friends from Philly.

Jazz makes me laugh when he keeps getting thrown out by Uncle Phil

It's also funny when he says something to offend Uncle Phil and anticipates getting thrown out!

Default Confused

I just watched one of the earlier episodes yesterday, the one where Will has to carpool for Ashley to her violin lessons and he ends up pawning her violen for a set of drums. Well, he tells Uncle Phil and Aunt Vivian that he met a guy who knows how to play the drums and that person was Jazz, so apparently Jazz's character was supposed to be from LA and also going back to Geoffery's Birthday when he goes out to the club with Naomi Campbell, Will and Jazz have a brief argument about the way fellas handle disputes in LA AND Philly. So I came to the conclusion that Jazz was from LA not Philly.

Well your conclusion is wrong. Jazz is from Philly on the show, not LA. Jazz moved out to LA on the show because of Will. Trust me.

Well, I won't trust you because I was watching the show the other day and brought this up to find out what others said and the majority believed that on the show Jazz is from LA not PHILLY. SO, I will continue to watch and hear if anything else comes out to either prove me wrong or right. Thank-you!

I don't care what the majority thinks. Jazz was from Philly on the show & he moved to LA cause of Will. In the opening credits when the show first comes on & they show Will playin on the basketball court with Jazz & some other dudes, that scene was supposed to be in Philly.

There are a lot of things that producers put into shows that they think that you do not notice. Which I already noticed that Jazz is in the opening credits scene but based on Episode 2 and a couple others, I can come to mine own conclusions. CASE CLOSED!!! THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER!

I have a question about that episode DaDiva mentioned. How did the audience see them going down the road?
