I was watching "George and the President" from year 3 and noticed that in the main credits the names of the actors onscreen don't match up at all with the scene that they are showing at that moment. This is weird. i don't remember exactly who was shown along with whose name though, but for example, if they listed ZARA CULLY they would show the scene where George is locked in the bathroom with the Willises. It's weird because they showed scenes of everybody at some point in the credits, except Florence who wasn't listed as a regular until year 4.

You're right about the pilot not matching up withthe credits for years 1 and 2, Solomon. Considering that they couldn't have been filmed that far apart from one another, you'd think that Louise's coat would match and that the vehicle would be the same. The only thing that matches up is George's outfit. LOL

At least in the earlier seasons Louise was still sensible enough to rewear the same outfits.

Exactly. Did you know the outfit Louise wore in the very Jeffersons first episode, she also wore that same outfit in a episode of All in the Family. If you were a All in the Family fan, it's the episode when Archie gives George a PHONY 20 Dollar Bill. |

You had mentioned that on another post I remember. Do you mean a green striped dress? Her whole look was more simple in the earlier days. No wonder she was mistaken for a maid in the first episode. You or someone else had mentioned that her look and her attitude changed after year 1. It's true. Some of her wigs after year one were really BIG. They could take on a life of their own. But I guess that someone like Louise living in an upper class environment with nothing to do all day would become more snobbish and silly after a while.

That background is Central Park in New York City, specifically a view of The Lake with the distinctive twin-tower apartment buildings of the San Remo rising in the distance. This shot appears during the end credits of The Jeffersons throughout the series. The imagery was chosen to reinforce the show's Manhattan setting after the Jeffersons “moved on up” to the East Side. How we know: The two tall towers match the San Remo (designed by Emery Roth), located on Central Park West. The water in the foreground and surrounding trees match the area around The Lake in Central Park. This exact angle is a well-known Central Park view, often filmed from the Ramble area. So, the background is a Central Park lakeside view facing the San Remo on Central Park West. |
